[INDENT]Esther is teeny tiny, just short of 5' 1". ​She's slim and fairly fit, though not necessarily athletic, and as such weighs about 120 pounds soaking wet. She commonly wears simple t-shirts and jeans, sometimes augmented by a jacket or replaced by a dress. However, she always wears her hijab, as seen in her picture.[/INDENT]
[B]| ABILITIES/SKILLS: |[/B]
[INDENT]Esther has the ability to see and manipulate probability. The way this power works is as such: Esther has the ability to subconsciously know and manipulate the odds of a certain event. For example, if she were to, say, throw a rock at someone, she could manipulate the odds that the rock was able to hit the person [i]just right[/i] in her favor. Naturally, this won't result in a perfect outcome every time; it just causes her margin of error, so to speak, to become much smaller. At the start of the RP, her power has been in effect since her birth, but she and her parents have always put it down to exceptionally good luck.

As for mundane skills, while Esther is a... less-than-stellar cook, and isn't great at maths or science either, she is fairly good at navigating conversations and social events, and has a talent for languages. She currently speaks English and Farsi, and is learning Spanish.[/INDENT]
[B]| BACKSTORY: |[/B]
[INDENT]Esther was born in Albany, New York, to a pair of Iranian Muslim parents who thought that it'd be safer to move to America than stick around back home. Her life growing up was... mixed, but ultimately positive. On one hand, her parents were very doting, and since her parents didn't have anywhere else to lavish their affections, they positively spoiled her. On the other hand, she had to endure a lot of bullying in school after 9/11, due to her faith, which was made worse by the fact that if she tried to go to a teacher, odds were that they'd just join in (though this improved as time passed). Despite that, she made a lot of friends, and still keeps in touch with some of them today.

To complicate matters, as she entered high school, she began fighting with her parents, who were fairly traditional Muslims, over many things, including Esther's more-than-occasional shirking of her daily prayers and her choice of clothing, which was a bit too revealing for her parents' taste. The rifts in their relationship caused by this have never fully healed, and even now, during Esther's first year of college in Larissa, she still worries about how she acts clashes with what her parents - and her faith - dictate for her. (Surprisingly, they took Esther's coming out as bi fairly well. After a bit of convincing that her libido would not suddenly quintuple in size, they were perfectly fine with it.) However, despite all of this, she still loves her parents very much.[/INDENT]

[INDENT]Most of Esther's motivation is (or will be, rather) a driving desire to "do what's right," backed by idealism and the determination to make her idealistic vision of the world a reality. Not to mention the potential cool factor of being part of her very own team of superheroes, or even a vigilante.[/INDENT]

Esther is also a Huge Nerd™, and enjoys a lot of different video games, ranging from Fire Emblem (with her favorite being Fates) to Civilization.
Esther is majoring in Marine Biology at Grimm.

This is a Character Driven RP, and as such you are encouraged and expected to take charge of your character's sub-plots and storylines. This is a favourite rule of mine, and that said, there will be a heavy emphasis on collaborative activities and team building as well. The GMs will be leading the RP in the traditional sense with a driving plot and will ensure the RP keeps moving however we do want to see you develop your characters and produce your own plots. However we don't want to see you lock your character out of interaction and focus solely on your character and their 'world'. No one enjoys watching you play with yourself, it's always better to let someone else join in on the fun.[/hider][/INDENT]
