Julian hadn’t realized just how much stuff was going on until he had handed the Arch Mage the letter from the archangels about the new student coming in a couple of weeks. Not to mention the cages, and then there was the survival test. He sighed a bit, leaning against the wall, running his fingers through his hair before rolling up his sleeves and looking down at his brand. How the hell hadn’t he known he had been teaching a hell knight? How did he not notice it? He shook his head, and once he heard a cheerful voice he couldn’t help the small smile that broke over his face. He turned and saw Samantha there and he nodded a bit to her greeting. “In a single word, exhausting. Not used to this much drama on the first day. Then to top it off, we’re getting a new student in a couple of weeks. Half human, half angel.” He answered, “What about you? I know Aren had asked me about the test administration, so he’s already announced it I’m assuming. It wouldn’t be so bad if we could locate the biggest problem.” Julian’s eyes involuntarily blackened and he rubbed his brand. He and Azrael had more history than he cared to remember and saying his name often triggered spouts of rage, but he kept calm and soon his eyes returned to normal. “Sorry.” He apologized before he stopped rubbing his brand. He pushed off the wall and opened Aren’s office door for her. “Ladies first.” And once she went in, he followed behind her and slumped in a chair. “Are any of mine giving you issues?” -- Alex was very happy as he walked down the halls with Blaze right beside him. Even though he knew just how nice Billie could be, it never ceased to amaze him how much she could surprise him. He petted Blaze’s head as they walked down the hall towards Jordyn’s room and he felt her stand close. “I know girl, it’s nice to finally be together isn’t it?” Blaze nodded her head a bit and once they got to Jordyn’s room and they got in, she took her place on the ground near the foot of the bed. “I would have told you, but Billie just gave her to me.” He said, seeing her come out of the bathroom. “Something about an early present. “ With a sigh, he let himself relax a bit and he patted next to him on the bed for her to sit. “So how about we eat, we’ll work on the school work we need to, and then we can just kind of veg out after that?” he suggested and he looked down to Blaze and after he got his food he handed her a strawberry and she ate it happily. “She loves fruit. I think it’s because I used to sneak it to her all the time when she was younger.” He smiled and petted the top of her head before watching as she placed her head in Jo’s lap. “So, did you still need help in Coexistence with humams?” he asked her, looking at the books she had for classes and remembering she had mentioned it earlier. “I really could help. I tutor in the subject simply because I’ve had to live with them since I came to earth.” He took another bite before offering a bit to her. “want to try some?” he asked. -- Darren was glad to see that Jackie came, but seeing her eyes turn he frowned a little. He did understand it though. That dragon bitch pissed them both off to no end, and when she said the thing about his demons, he nodded. At least he had someone who didn’t side with that bitch. Very few hadn’t sided with him because that demon bitch had managed to sullen his reputation by saying that he only flaunted his father’s status in a cage because he had nothing else. He knew the secret the Sanders had kept though, and that was about their own father. He waved his hand when she thanked him for the blood. “I have to take care of my friends. They’re few and far between here lately. But I can see how hard your day has been. Hell, you know that he will come crawling back to you when he realizes how badly he fucked up.” Once she asked him about his break, he’ll lean forward a bit and smirk. “Well, I could tell you why there is a survival test now. There are these cages in hell, for the most evil demons, and the ones sick on their own power. There’s an increasing number, it hit fifty before the end of the year last year, and now at least 14 are opened. I only know because my father is out and about. I was helping him most of the summer. Told me to come back because it’d be useful to have me here with what’s going on.” He said, getting up and getting a bottle of gin. “Drink, love?” He made himself a cup of gin and sprite and he made Jackie a drink as well before he sat back down and smiled a bit. “So, things here might get a little shook up down the line, if my theory is correct. Because if I’m right a big bad is out, and he’s got children here.” He said, and he took a deep breath in. “And if it comes to it, my demons will be back with me because who else would know how to protect against a caged demon than the child of one? Now I just have to wait around, but I’m patient enough.” He ran his finger over the rum of his glass and looked at Jackie. “imagine it, the feud would end and we could realign our groups to how they were. Back to the glory days again.” -- Billie looked at Logan a minute before laughing. “Hey, hey. I may not have the correct parts, but I wouldn’t mind it either. But that means teaching and trial and error, much too much work.” She said, and when he mentioned his books, she waved her hand and watched as they levitated back onto his desk. “Fucking bastards!” she laughed a bit more before it died out. What he said caused her to look at him and nod. “I know you’ve had a bad day, Logan. And I get it,” she said, scooting back on the bed a bit to lean her back against something. “And if you want to sit here and get drunk, I’m here with you. Besides, of anyone, you know I’ll understand what you are going through.” She took the bottle when it was offered to her and she looked over at him before looking at her bag. “Good thing I brought more then. We’re both heavy drinkers.” She laughed at his comment. “Well, earlier you reminded me that I have more of your shirts than you do, so I figured I could return a few of the collection.” She said, pulling up her back and sitting next to him before placing a bag in his lap. “Of course you can. I bought half of it for you.” She leaned her back against the wall and took a bite of her sandwich before waving her hand for her bottle of whiskey. She held her bottle up to him. “To good friends and good booze?” -- Adrian sighed as he sat in his dorm room with Justin after he noticed the tie had been taken off the door he had been in the library most of the day, and he had already finished his homework for his classes. It wasn’t at all difficult, but now his roommate was being an annoying bugger. “So, are you going to leave again? I have a hot piece of ass that is likely coming back again tonight.” Justin asked, and Adrian rolled his eyes. “Who is this hot piece of ass who wouldn’t stay if they wanted round two?” Adrian asked, his voice clearly irritated. Justin chuckled. “Billie Sanders. I’ve been working at her for four years, she finally gave in.” He said, and Adrian’s eyes blackened over for a moment before it disappeared. “Dude, she left. There is no round two for you, hell, you were lucky to get a first round anyway. But yeah, I guess I’ll leave and you won’t have to worry about me as a dorm mate for much longer. I promise.” Adrian threw some of his stuff in a bag and headed out. He rubbed his temples, as mad as he was at her, as much as he wanted to hate Billie, he couldn’t. He knew she did have order to maintain, and she had changed for the better it seemed. But for her to sleep with that wretch, he knew she was in a down swing. Still, he needed to get his mind off of stuff and he only had one person he knew he could get along with. And she had opened her door a bit cheerfully too. He entered Molly’s dorm and sighed. “I hate asking, but can I crash here? My roommate is being a mega douche, and I’m going to talk to the Arch Mage tomorrow about switching.” He said, and he noticed her ALD book opened. “I’m sure I don’t have to tell you how easy the assignment is. I just got done with it not too long ago.” -- It had been far too long. Billie was laughing and she had noted her pendant glowing a soft grey – white color the longer she and Logan talked. She was glad he was laughing again, and smiling. She knew how hard it was to show the darkest parts of yourself, but when she had done it, it was too early in the feud for him to do this for her. However, he had sent Heather and then Clary after her, so she knew he had wanted to be there. “I know!!” she giggled a bit, taking another sip. “Though I always have early mornings. I have to get in a hot as hell shower before classes.” She said and she leaned back a bit when he brought up her spending the night. “Great idea. I probably wouldn’t make it halfway down the hall at this rate.” She giggled again, and she leaned against him a minute, barely realizing he hadn’t spoke again. She turned to look at him and smiled. “This is nice.” Not a moment after that something happened though… something she hadn’t expected to happen either. He kissed her. It didn’t take long for her own body to respond, but a moment later it was over and she looked at him. Had that really just happened? She felt his fingers on her face when he tucked her hair behind his ear and god did she wish she could find it in herself to speak, but she couldn’t. And he was apologizing? Don’t apologize! Just do it again! Oddly enough at her last thought his lips had found hers again, and this time it didn’t stop abruptly. It had began soft, but the more he put into, the more she found herself giving back. She had managed to bring a hand up to his hair and ran her fingers through it before it found the side of his face. He was pulling her closer, and she moved herself so she could comply, but something broke her from it. How the fuck did she not hear the door open? “Hey, Lo, I just forgot my…” Clary’s voice came and Billie found herself moving away from Logan, trying to avoid any eye contact with Clary and Drake? Drake looked over at Billie and Logan, not at all surprised at what they had walked in on, though the look that came over Clary’s face spoke volumes to her level of excitement. “Hey B. Hi, I’m Drake.” He introduced himself to Logan a bit awkwardly. “Clary forgot her bag from earlier here and I didn’t want her walking alone. So um…” he saw the bag she had described to him in the hall and took it over his shoulder. “Clary, come on. Sal and Cole are waiting on us.” Clary tossed a look over to both Billie and Logan. She knew it!! Boy did she know it!! But soon she felt Drake’s hand find hers and she spoke again. “Oh, right yeah. I’ll be back in late, Lo! Sorry to interrupt.” She said, and once Drake had her out the door, Billie tossed her eyes to it and watched it shut. Well, that was going to open up something. She knew it was, but… it was Logan. Billie looked at Logan and held out her open hand for him to place his as she picked up her bottle and took another drink before offering it to Logan. That could not have been anymore awkward, and she was inwardly cursing a bit that they weren’t in her dorm right now. At least Alex had to go through the lock on the door and couldn’t literally go through the door. She really didn’t know what to say. They had been kissing and then they had been caught by Clary, but God what she wouldn’t give for that moment to have lasted longer. She’d give anything to live in those last few moments for a while because it had made her day… hell it made her year with the way her life was going now. At least she knew she’d at least sleep happy tonight. -- Clary and Drake walked back towards the cafeteria in an awkward tow. Clary was smiling ear to ear, and Drake finally asked. “Why are you so happy?” Clary nearly began jumping up and down at the question. “I know you saw what I did. I know you did, and they are so in love with each other it’s sick, but it’s like they’re playing chicken with their emotions.” Drake smiled a bit and nodded, “But Clary, they’re both obviously drunk. Don’t you think that has something to do with it?” “Obviously. But when you’re drunk, you are like a child. You don’t care what others think, you do what you really feel. And obviously they were both really feeling it.” She said, and when they got back to the table, Cole gave a look. “You’re happy. Which is good, Clary, but you were like drowning in worry like two hours ago.” She said. “I’ll tell you later. Too many unwanted ears around here.” Clary smiled a bit.
