Some people are okay with first person. It was just different to see, is all.
I'm sure if she doesn't want first person, she'll let your intro post pass. To be honest, the quality of your post is still on point even if it's in a tense not most writers use unless they're entering the thoughts of a character. I feel like I got wayy closer to your characters because it's in first person though xD
