Mia’s natural dark blonde hair reaches just longer than her shoulders is usually worn in a variety of ways – she just loves messing around with it. And anyone else’s hair, at that. Silvery-grey eyes can often be mistaken for green or blue depending on the lighting, and they certainly accentuate her RBF that she inherited from her mother. Her accent is a gentle one – having spent the first few years of her life in Georgia, Mia has retained the homey, sweet southern tones that certainly make her pleasant to listen to. In terms of clothing, she’s pretty diverse. There’s not one style she prefers other another, really – just as long as it’s good to look at, and she’s comfortable in it. Obviously, this can range from jeans to skirts, and from sweaters to vest tops.

Who Am I?
| Personality | ♦ Blunt ♦ Childish ♦ Imaginative ♦ Argumentative ♦
At heart, Mia has been, and likely always will be, a child. There’s something satisfying in being able to act immature and still have enough charm to get away with it – and with such immaturity in her actions, comes a bluntness to her words. Childhood is all about energy and spontaneity – so why dance around an unspoken issue when you can just call it out? Feelings can sometimes be hurt when she states the truth as tactlessly as she does, but to her, it shouldn’t matter in the long run. Despite this childish outlook on life, Mia has a serious potty mouth – one that surely rears its head when it comes to arguing... a favourite past-time of hers. However, this should not distract from her good qualities, which are certainly more prominent – Mia is like home-made lemonade; the first sip is bitter, but you certainly feel the sweetness afterwards. And she is indeed a sweet person – if someone is offended or hurt by her bluntness, she’ll make it up to them in some simple way that shows she does actually care... she wouldn’t have spoken so abruptly to them otherwise. In addition to her childishness is her imagination – it won’t be uncommon for her to suggest a fantastical idea, simply because it looks awesome all mapped out in her head, despite it being unable to work in the real world. Although this creative and out-of-the-box thinking can be useful at times, one soon gets tired of her incessantly begging for their team shape-shifter to turn into a motherfucking dragon to consume all of their enemies in one bite. As for the events in the past few days, they have indeed shaken her resolve – when it comes to her parents, Mia couldn’t imagine finer people. She cannot believe for one second that they would harm someone without good reason, whether they’re Alien or not. As such, she would still very much like to go back to them, and is very homesick at the moment... she also dreads the day that their group will come against the supposed Super-Villain group their parent’s belong to, and she’ll be forced to bring harm to the people she loves the most on this earth. With this train of thinking comes a childish naivety, which could prove disastrous for the runaways.
| Likes & Dislikes |
✔ Surprising people with her shockingly lewd potty mouth. Her Dad was an awesome Doctor, her Mom running her own Lawyer firm, and they doted on their only child. They loved her, and she loved them. Life was as it would be for any child growing up in a successful home – she got lessons in her chosen sport and musical instrument (Respectively horse-riding and the cello, as it happens); she did well in school with just the right amount of pressure from her parents; and she lived in a big ol’ house for her to mess around in. She never noticed anything odd or extraordinary about her life – the most uncommon thing was her having to take an injection everyday for her Diabetes, and that was it. Except, as she found out, she doesn’t have Diabetes. The medicine wasn’t insulin, and it was being administered for a completely different reason to what she thought... she was an alien. Now, despite the joy in the discovery she could now have as much sugar as she wanted, it still wasn’t the best thing to find out from snooping around some random papers with your friends. Especially to also learn that her parents were apparently merciless killers who were a part of a crime syndicate. Her doting Daddy and sweet Momma... killers? Mia couldn’t believe it – she didn’t want to believe it. But the evidence was there, along with more information found in her parent’s bedroom back at her home. Information about themselves, and their race, and their planet. And it was terrifying. What made it more terrifying was that she wasn’t human, and she had no idea what that meant for her. Apparently the “insulin” she’d been taking for all these years have been stopping her powers from manifesting... so what would happen, now that she’s stopped taking it? She has no idea, and the more she reads up about these Avalians, the more scared she gets. But she doesn’t want the others to know... she may be the youngest, and may act the youngest, but Mia will not be taken as some kind of burden – she’ll pull her weight, and keep concerns to herself. After all, they’re all scared... and she doubts they’ll understand how she feels. At least the others are sort of human.
| Family |

| Dr. Duncan Alston | As mentioned, Avalians aren’t particularly interested in Earth at this point in time. It’s not “prime real estate” at the moment, what with all the blood-thirsty, war-mongering, shotgun-toting monkeys wandering about its surface. Therefore, the Avalian council was quite happy to leave it alone for now... but the Alston family were not quite content to leave it as such. Being prominent members of society, the heads of the family – at that point, Duncan Alston’s parents – suggested an invasion now, while the humans lacked the technology to properly defend against it. But they disliked the idea – “too early”, they said. Well, the Alston’s weren’t having that. They were a power-hungry family, one that admired the concept of conquest and would apply it to anything. So, Duncan and his new wife Victoria ventured off to Earth, hoping to at least do some up-close reconnaissance for their aspiring family. And after a few years posing as humans, they came into contact with quite the nefarious group... the Syndicate. Rather than just sticking to recon, the Alston’s got into touch with the Syndicate, offering forth a supposed deal – because while Duncan’s parents remained very hopefully for the future, both he and Victoria realised that the family alone could not take the Earth, not without outside aid. They weren’t getting any from Avalia – who weren’t even aware that the Alston’s had set in motion their plan – so that meant getting aid from the humans themselves. And it wasn’t as hard as expected to find ones as power-hungry as themselves. It didn’t take long for them to work out a deal – at first, Duncan found himself hesitant to deal with humans in the first place. They were just so primitive compared to Avalians; still resorting to fist-fights when one looked at another the wrong way. And their dependence on various substances was despicable – Avalia did have drinks similar to alcohol, but it was never imbibed so much as these humans did. Anyway – despite his misgivings about the human race, this group seemed to be like-minded; particularly the supposed leader of the group, George. The man was just as scornful to the human race as they were, so they got along quite fine with he and his wife... other couples in the group were not regarded so kindly, particularly the Priests. Back on Avalia, their religion was one with their way of life and government – so much so that they did not have individual terms for it. The Gods gave them powers – extensive scientific research showed there was no other source other than through miraculous and divine intervention, for them to gain such gifts – as such; the idea of a “Sun Goddess” was ridiculous to both Duncan and Victoria. In fact, the mass of different faiths on this planet was astounding to them, particularly when such “Gods” had never made themselves known in any way. Anyway, regardless of his feelings about humans and their petty Gods, Duncan settled in fairly well. It took him a few years to work out social conventions properly – seriously, what’s the point in handshakes? – and he got himself a nice job as Head Surgeon at the local hospital. Credentials were easily faked, and he could jump straight into the same job he had worked as on Avalia. After two or three years on Earth, Victoria fell pregnant with their first and only child – Amelia. Duncan doted on his daughter, and loves her dearly alongside his wife. While making the decision when she was born to keep her true heritage a secret from her – and in the meantime, administering “medicine” to keep any affinities at bay, he and Victoria agreed to tell her the truth when she turned 18 and became an adult, hoping that she could join in their conquest of earth, and aid them in the future of the Syndicate-Avalian Empire that would come to pass. | Role in the Syndicate | As far as Syndicate knows about Avalians and how they work, they are under the impression that Duncan has the affinity for two Avalian elements; Body and Ground. While Ground is a latent power – despite his apparent misgivings with his home-world, he and his wife still considered it to be a disgusting thing to use the two base elements offensively, no matter the situation – his affinity for the Body is far more useful, to both he and the Syndicate. While working nicely for his job as a Surgeon, it can be used as both a threat and incentive to people affiliated with Syndicate. If one works for the group and is considered valuable, he’ll use his power to help along their healing process. If a loose end needs to be taken care of, they’ll deteriorate rapidly, without any notion of toxins or evidence that foul play is afoot. However, Duncan has a third element his is attuned too – Space. Kept firmly under the impression that you should never reveal everything to co-workers, Duncan has kept this quiet... after all, how can their strategist Linda come up with a plan to deal with it, if she doesn’t know it exists?

| Victoria Alston | Much like her husband, she adores her home and her family – there is nothing she wouldn’t do for her darling daughter... apart from perhaps, leave this criminal group. When she and Duncan first arrived on this planet, the idea of children hadn’t really occurred to them until she fell pregnant – only then did she realise how important their children would be – if things went according to plan, they would be the ones to inherit the Earth from them. | Role in the Syndicate | Victoria’s affinities are used to great purpose, both in her innocent day job, and more deviant role in the Syndicate – she can manipulate the element of the Mind, Heat, and Water. Again, Water is never used offensively. She and Duncan use their peaceful affinities to help grow things in their garden, and it helped Mia learn how to swim as a child - and it never goes beyond that. Mind, however, is incredibly useful – being a Lawyer, it is so easy to wipe out all confidence in her opponents, or make them recall their worst fears in the middle of a courtroom to reduce them to a blubbering mess. It doesn't look good for one's reputation. She was able to make a notorious name for herself after just two years in the profession. By three, she was running her own company, and now, she does one of two things to Lawyers that come into her state of New York – she either owns them, or destroys them. And this is where she her role takes the forefront within the Syndicate: If any of their people slip up – and they do, there’s always one that does - she has the choice to stand for them, or against them. Her Mind power also allows her to cover secrets of she and her husband – she knows that they each have a dossier, and she knows there are telepaths in the ground. Therefore, mind shielding does wonders to keep the human’s noses out of their business... it also prevents the others from knowing how little they mean to the Alston’s, and how quickly they would throw them under the bus if their plans interfered with Avalia’s in the future.

| Abilities |
As is common for her Avalian race, Mia appears to Affinities for three elements so far:

Air – She hasn’t been able to do much with this other than to use it for flying, or making some cool breezes when the jeep get’s too stuffy.
Time – A very latent power so far; it gives the chance to peak into the future or the past, to see events that matter highly to her. A somewhat useful gift, but it would be even better if she was able to consciously check ahead of time to make sure they won’t get caught. As of now, she just sorta zones out – not in the comfortable, conscious way she’s used to either – regardless of the place or situation she’s in.
Light – She is able to manifest and manipulate light, turning it into a malleable substance that is quite capable of being used offensively, in the form of high-power beams, or defensively, in the form of a force field. It is, however, a great toll on her body, as it takes a high amount of concentration to keep this power in check. Otherwise, it just burnt out herself, and everyone else in the vicinity. ((As of now, none of these powers have manifested just yet – this message will be removed when they do.))

| Strengths |

Creative thinking – although it can be trying at times, Mia’s imagination can be quite handy at coming up with useful strategies to avoid the authorities. For all the logical thinking from the rest of the group, she reckons their parents will be following the same thought pattern – if you’re unpredictable, you’re less likely to be caught by those strange logic thinkers.
Bright and bubbly – despite her own internal emotions swaying to the negative side these days, on the outside she remains quite cheerful and mischievous. Her childish enthusiasm is infectious at the best of times, and she’s probably made a lot of the journey a bit easier. When she hasn’t been annoying everyone, that is.
Power – Although she doesn’t know it yet, Mia’s affinities are a force to be reckoned with; although there’s the downside that her more destructive powers aren’t in much control, they are still extremely useful in a fight. Foresight is an advantage too, when the visions are behaving themselves that is.

| Weaknesses |

Naive – Mia still doesn’t truly believe that her parents are bad people, that they’re killers. She’d like to go back home to them, despite the feeling deep in her heart telling her to turn away.
Uncontrollable – An Avalian’s powers naturally makes themselves known when their host is a child; but Mia’s have been suppressed all of her life, out of fear she would let the world know about herself and her parents. Therefore, she has no modicum of control over any of them – although not much of an issue for the more easy-going ones like her Air affinity, it could be potentially disastrous for her other Affinities, and what they alone are capable of doing.
Argumentative – if she doesn’t like a plan, she’ll let the others know about it. Even if she can’t think of a better one herself, if Mia has a bad feeling about something, she’ll let others know. Paired with her stubbornness, she may be likely to go off and do her own thing without telling anyone, as she thinks it will work.
