The traps are already set - no need to set them up. In fact, you wouldn't have time to set 'em up differently because the enemy is marching on you [i]right now.[/i] Nobody knew the Greenfeathers were joining in until they crossed the river. Everyone would have thought it was just the Nightfells.

Talking to the orc and equipping the men differently are definitely ways you could prepare, however.
