[@Gisk] Yes, no one in the house, or nearby. Just them and a little but in the woods. The hut is very new, showing signs of only having existed for a week or two, three at the most. The wood is all freshly cut and newly assembled. Wards had been placed on it that protected it from the elements and hid it from notice. The wards would have fallen one by one over the last week, the man who made them being dead and unable to maintain them. (I can't remember if wards fall immediately following their creator's death or if they linger on their own or something so we're just going to say he supercharged them and that's why they lasted so long after his death.)
