Sadly, the only downside is that it is strictly singleplayer, leaving out a good area of challenge (Granted the AI is actually pretty decent but still). So I figured, why not try an RP about it. In the Clone Wars Mod for Star Wars: Empire at War - Forces of Corruption, you can play as one of two factions: The Republic or the Separatists. For this, I'd enlarge that to include Pirate Factions such as the Pirates of Florrum, the Mandalorian splinter cell known as Deathwatch, and Neutral Systems such as Mandalore itself. Of course there won't be enough people to play as every neutral world, so I'd probably just have one person play each faction for now, and maybe later on let more people join and leave it up to the faction controllers who they would allow in. It would also consist of the real-time strategy used for the game, as in each faction can always be moving no matter what another faction is currently doing. I'm still foggy on how it would all work. I'm guessing most of it will be taken directly from the game, such as shipyards, primary base planet's, major hyperspace lanes, and other things.
