Yeah, but it's not always good. I'm the son of a veteran myself, and there's tons of problems within the VA.

Veterans routinely have their benefits undermined by various kinds of bullshit. It can take years of effort to get yourself considered the appropriate %disabled, for one. For two, mental health professionals aren't always well intentioned. Fuck, there was a report concerning a mental health professional in the military just a few months back that was telling someone who was having post-traumatic symptoms to [i]man up[/i] and I think he even suggested the guy commit suicide.

So, even if you're considered disabled or to have a mental health issue due to your service, you're not always going to have proper care.
