He had no memory of who he was or how he got there. He lived as a wanderer for awhile, trying to find his past. But, one day, he met a man who changed his life. That man was then, the captain of squad 8.

Their meeting came about as what appeared to be mere coincidence. The captain was far in the outskirts of the ---, as Alex would find out later, shirking his duties. recklessly, Alex challenged him, 

 he became a mentor to Araris. After witnessing his power and seeing his potential, the captain convinced Arais to join squad eight. He did so, and he distinguished himself quickly as a fighter and a tactition and he rose through the ranks quickly. He became captain by the unusual means of Trial by Combat, in which he challanged the Captain to a dual. After several long and difficult battles, he prevailed by a hair. The now formor captain congratulated Araris and decided to retire, claiming he was getting too old. They parted as friends. Araris currently has opened a small pub that is run by him and his squad. They serve their own brewed sake.[/sub][/Indent][/Indent]

A natural swordsman and one of the best in the seireitei.
Very accomplished all around in kido, bakudo, and shunpo, though not a master of any of the three. 
Studies the unusual discipline of taijutsu.
Very modern, knows his way around moral technology, even plays a guitar.(Though not very well)
