Oh, and [@Redrum]: You're pretty spot-on, except for the fact that Gideon wouldn't be likely to take Dianthe's teasing too hard. He isn't the kind of self-important that people challenging him really upsets him, he's the kind of self-important where he's so confident he doesn't mind challenges, as they don't phase him at all.

And it's interesting that in the now sadly obliterated version of my relationships page, I'd also pegged Gideon and Dianthe as getting along pretty well. Great minds think alike, I guess.
