[@Heat] How does one figure out currency in a post-apocalyptic setting? I have a feeling most stuff would run on a barter system. "Oh, you have this shiny, useful thing? I'll trade you this shiny "useful" thing in exchange, haha." But, would, like people have meetings to come up with a kind of monetary value on things and then establish something akin to actual currency? Like, how did people in Fallout just think, "Oh, Nuka-Cola caps... those are the equivalent of pre-war money now! I'll just give this guy an abundance of these caps that I found laying around for his awesome gun and see if he'll give it to me." Actually, that sounds legit... like it started out as a con and it actually grew into something. Maybe that's how money works in this world? Someone thought, "I'm gonna carry around these nuts and bolts until I can convince someone that they're worth monetary value and see if they'll gimme their stuff." And it works, and suddenly it's a chain system until everyone agrees that these particular nuts 'n bolts represent apocalyptic currency. Or is that too weird? On a totally different note, I'll hopefully be able to work on my character tomorrow. I have a vague idea of what I want and it centers around a guy from a distant area, settled in Eden for some form of work or maybe to lay low, and he's carrying around an actual human skull that is personally valuable to him. That's all I got right now, but it's gotten me inspired to work on fleshing his character into something three-dimensional and interesting. ;o
