He never loses his temper and isn’t the kind of guy to hold grudges. He’s a very defensive person even though he doesn’t like to fight. If someone tries to judge him or his friends, he’ll quickly make them regret it with a single glare. He does have quite an intimidating aura, even if people know he is harmless.

He’s never one to lie and will be completely upfront and honest with everyone. He doesn’t see the point in lying about useless shit when you always get caught out and have to then explain yourself later. He’s got a very addictive personality and has to be careful with what he does and what he takes into his system. The one thing he has never been able to shake is weed. It is just part of who he is and he doesn’t know how to get off of it. He got off of it once but feel back into it just a few years later.

[b][color=CC5200]Thoughts On The Murder:[/color][/b] Kai was pretty shook up over Simone’s death. She had been his dealer and he wondered what could or would have happened if he’d been there when someone had attacked and killed her. He couldn’t get the look on her lifeless face out of his mind and it still haunted his dreams to this day. He knew that Simone was a little rough around the edges and didn’t like to get close to anyone, but he’d never saw her as such a bad person that she deserved to be murdered. He wishes he could have done something to help Simone, maybe he should have tried to be her friend but too little, too late. He’d just have to live with the shoulda, coulda, wouldas.

[b][color=CC5200]History During H.S.:[/color][/b] Kai was really friendly, really laidback and didn’t have a bad word to say about anyone at all. He was a pot head and hung around with the other delinquents that were too lazy to actually get up to any kinds of delinquency beyond getting their high. He was such a giant bear of a guy but everyone knew that he wouldn’t hurt a fly. He was as chill as chill could be.

He didn’t take part in any extra-curricular things and had many friends in all of the groups and cliques. He didn’t judge and loved everyone, even their bad parts. He was just the stereotypical pothead skater that was so laidback that he was horizontal most of the time. The fact he even graduated was a feat in and of itself.

He was held back a few times and was pretty much set to flunk out of school entirely. He just didn’t care and had no real desire to go to college and figured that he didn’t need his diploma to do manual labour or surf so why bother? That was until he met an amazing girl in, what would come to be, his graduating year of high school. He was with her for the year and she helped him to clean his act up and get his shit together. She is the reason that he even graduated.

They broke up when she went off to college because Kai didn’t want to hold her back and wanted her to find her place in the world while he found his. If they came back together when time moved on, then they knew they were meant to be. If not? He had the memories of them together and that would be better than nothing.

[b][color=CC5200]History Since Graduation:[/color][/b] After saying goodbye to his ex, Kai found a mechanic apprenticeship and worked hard while living at home with his mother. He had a part time bartending job in the evenings when he was done with his apprenticeship. After he became fully qualified, his mother fell very sick. She was diagnosed as having Primary Progressive Multiple Sclerosis. She died two years after her diagnosis as she refused any medication. 

The death of his mother hit him hard and he slipped back into his use of weed as a means of coping. He fell into a depression and also began drinking too much. His friends managed to help pull him out of the drinking and he’s been sober since 2010.

Kai was left everything that his mother owned but he couldn’t bear living in the house without her. He sold everything that he didn’t want and need, gathering as much cash as he could so that he could move back to Hawaii. He was estranged from his father who lived there and figured that he’d regret not trying to have a relationship with him. He moved back to his homeland only to find that his father had died six months earlier.

Not wanting to quit on his move, Kai lived in Honolulu for five years before deciding that he wanted to return to the mainland once again. He found a job in Chicago, Illinois and has been living there ever since working as a mechanic and taking part in the odd street race when time allows. It’s a good way to get some fast money and he loves driving, so why not?
