~~~
Vellios-Down the Tunnel, Mineshaft
~~~ “Sending what my scanner picks up to everyone, allow me to point you in the right direction.” Vellios heard Dex utter into his helmet, his lips curled into a smirk and his mind immediately latched onto it. It was the only thing distracting him from the growing numbness in his mind. Memories, thoughts and unsavory emotions tried to surface only to be pushed down the moment the female Turian spoke against the silence. For that, thought she might never realise it, he was grateful for. When the hub revealed the data in his visor, his eyes flickered across the digital readout and it revealed about four snipers on the right fork of the tunnel. Those were his target as the droids took the exactly same detour he did, his figure quickly vanishing into the foggy scene. It was hellish breathing in. Drono’s experiment had long since stopped rumbling down the narrow path but the heat still remained, the floor still faint with the heat at where it rolled downward. He was starting to understand why the damn thing flew down so fast as his feet skirted along the pebbled trail, digging in to keep him from falling on his carapace covered ass along the way. It was fortunate he was wearing the headgear since it covered his face, filtering the air enough for him to breath and fed him directions along the blinding cover. He also swear he heard Vorcha death metal music echoing through the cavern somewhere. His shotgun was held close to his chest, waiting and ready for a shot, when he noted the sniper’s location. They were on an overhanging ledge a few feet above the ground and perfect position to take cheap pot shot at him. He was about a quarter of the way there with no way to duck in time into the nearest steel grinder. Rather than waste the time hiding, his arms raised and talons pulled the trigger with aim at the second sniper. His gun had explosive rounds which made quite a bang when it hit. This was a fact the Batarian discovered when Vellios’ shot hit his shields, dropping them instantly followed up by two sounds. One was Serena’s concussion arrow slamming into his body and spilling his blood across the backdrop. His shoulder had a neat, large chunk taken out of it when it hit causing the sniper to crumble back behind the ledge with his pals. Another had an additional three to four shots ring at the Batarian nearest, the sniper’s shields literally dropped immediately from Dex’s sniping. His eyes widened from above Vellios as he caught the Turian’s smile when his arms lifted, his feet darting to the side to avoid getting hit when he laid down a round of fire. The explosive rounds making it rather hard for anyone to risk standing up against. Vellios’ shoulder slammed into the rocky wall of the tunnel, his shield still up and his frame made as small as possible against the retaliation. Six or several shots rang out, vibrating against the cavern and keeping Vellios pinned. Once more, Dex’s voice echoed over his helmet radio after she fired her shoots. “Let’s keep pushing forward everybody. Inspiring speeches can’t keep their morale up for long.” “Little hard when I’m a bit pinned, Dex. Through nice job shooting off your load into the Batarian. I like a Turian gal who can handle her gun well. Now, can you or the Mr. One Shot please suppress these assholes while I get closer. I might have a Cain Mine with their name on it if I get close enough...”
