Magic is pursued as a luxury science by those that can afford it, or have a gift for it. It works less on incantations, though powerful spells can be read from spellbooks, but rather manipulating the latent force in a person's soul to change the world around them, or manipulate something. Magic can fall into a few archetypes (fire magic, healing, etc) but can be more specific to more skilled users. There will have to be some sort of "mana" pool, in which magic can be used until the entirety of the pool is expended. The more intensely the pool is exhausted, the longer it takes to recharge. While magic can be very powerful, even the mightiest of spells will have a difficult time against more combat-oriented champions. Magic is still being researched and isn't fleshed out fully by the humans.
