You mostly learn ArcGIS in these classes, which is what most maps and GPS systems are made from. Other than that, you learn about the world, the environment, and earth science. Everything is pretty interesting and you learn a lot of interesting facts, like how the West Coast is pretty much doomed to be destroyed by earthquakes/tsunami/Yellowstone supervolcano/etc. so don't move there. xD
