Ancient Library
Akoni felt like an idiot. It didn't happen very often, so when it did he was especially infuriated, meaning his attitude was even more sour than normal. He had thought he found a library, disheveled and lacking, when in reality it was some hovel for that bird creature. Now here he was, while some of the others were on official missions from the Council, amongst a true library. Fantastic though it was, Akoni's appreciation was bit dimmed by the experience. Moreso considering his company. The child-demon's presence was an irritation at best, and the sage's presence meant he had to keep a healthy dose of paranoia about him just in case he was recognized and the sage decided an old feud was more important than their work as a "team." At least Mary and Souta were tolerable, fellow academics, even if they were still crickets. And thank all powers in the Three Kingdoms that the half-breed Kosara had been assigned elsewhere. Akoni didn't need her reckless behavior here. The old mage walked at the front of the group, illuminating his way with an old cantrip, a single floating ball of light. Torches were for suckers. As the group entered the great dome with the skylight, Akoni noticed the books strewn about on the floor. Not again... Without waiting for the others he began levitating the books towards himself so that he could look them over, cross-reference their text, and generally inspect every possible detail. For the moment he would let the others look over the archways and their runes.
