Normally, Kirin would truthfully deny ownership of something that wasn't his, but for some reason, he felt oddly drawn to the music player. He lifted the device from Mr. Clarkson's hand and inspected it. Its face was black, like the generic Apple brand iPod Touch, but unlike the common mp3 player, the sides and back were also black. It was also more block-like than the rounded corners of a common iPod. But the biggest difference was its weight. It was significantly lighter than what he was used to. It felt almost fake. "Umm... Yeah, I lost it earlier today... Thanks." The words didn't feel right as he pocketed the strange object. Not to say that he felt guilty for lying, but he felt like they weren't his words. As if someone else was speaking for him, taking it for him. The feeling subsided when he let go of the device, dropping it into his pocket. With a shuddered nod, he bid his teacher good day and returned to the hallway.
