 [b]About Me[/b]
 - I am female, 25, and I've been roleplaying for over ten years now.
 - I'm a friendly sort and like to have conversations and form friendships with my partners.
 - I am located in the US (CST). I'm currently working as a temp so my schedule is a little unpredictable and my availability may change several times in one week. That said, I will usually work on replies in the evenings as my schedule allows. I sometimes travel out of town once or twice a month but I will try to give advance notice if there will be a delay on a return post.

 - I prefer partners to be over 18 due to the tendency of my writing containing mature content (sex, violence, drug references).
 - I've got many years of this hobby under my belt so I am particular about my partner being literate and able to keep pace with me in terms of post length and quality. I like colorful writing, but please don't spend an entire paragraph describing to me the exact hue and all comparable aspects of your character's eyes.
 - I usually attempt to reply within the same week of receiving a post, but sometimes I can get backed up. I will do my best to keep you up to date on when to expect a response and I expect the same courtesy shown to me. If there is some reason you cannot respond in a certain time frame please bring it to my attention. This also applies if you are going to be leaving for an extended period or lose interest in the roleplay. I will show the same consideration to you. If you haven't heard from me directly then check my status.
 - PLEASE DO NOT BADGER ME FOR A POST! Gentle reminders are fine (i.e. "hey, just checking in, hope everything is going well"), but don't assume that I've lost interest if my reply is taking awhile. Sometimes I have to simmer on a response, other times I am having muse-killing bouts of depression. Please bear this in mind. I'll reiterate, if you haven't heard from me directly then check my status, if my status doesn't answer your question [i]then[/i] feel free to toss me a polite nudge via PM.
 - I consider roleplay a collaborative writing process and fully encourage and anticipate active discussion between myself and my partner when it comes to plot details and story direction. I tried to leave plenty of wiggle room in the plot written below for potential partners to develop their own ideas for the story. I am always willing to discuss/plot/chat via IMs or Kik.
 - Include your favorite color in your message when you PM me to indicate you read all details herein. IF YOU DON'T DO THIS THEN I WILL MOST LIKELY IGNORE YOUR MESSAGE.
 - I use photographs for character reference, no illustrations or anime (I will make an exception for realistic fantasy illustrations in high-fantasy story settings). Character sheets are not necessary unless stated otherwise, but sample posts may be requested.
 - I don't care for censorship/fade-to-black scenes but all written sexual content will be discussed beforehand to establish an agreeable comfort level. If you're uncomfortable with the very idea of writing sex then I don't recommend responding to this thread.
 - My personal minimum post limit is three to four paragraphs, though it is usually much more than that. I would like to have a partner in the same ballpark.

[b]This story will contain:[/b] Graphic content (sexual & violent, sometimes together), a possibility for warped/bittersweet romance, adult language, dark/macabre/horror themes, intrigue, drama, supernatural elements/vampirism, mid/long-term storytelling, in-depth collaboration & world-building, political and social elements, various supporting characters (preferably with both players). All content will take place in PM format. This plot is imagined for the Victorian Era and will evoke the gothic romanticism of the time (think [i]Crimson Peak[/i] and [i]Penny Dreadful[/i]). 

[b]What I would like from my partner:[/b] Someone comfortable with playing a dominate, secretive, and manipulative male character against my strong-willed and curious female character. Being comfortable playing multiple side characters and contributing to the direction of the plot is also necessary, as well as an ability to assist in developing the details. This will likely turn into a long-term story, so patience and commitment are a huge plus.

[center][u][b]The Lord of Blackthorne Manor[/b][/u][/center]

For years Evelyn Price had entertained potential suitors, but had never taken the prospect very seriously when her father was not terribly insistent that she marry. After the passing of Evelyn's mother, and with no other family to speak of, she and her father took solace in each others' company and formed a close bond, causing her father rue the thought of marrying her off. Matters changed, however, when her father's health suffered a sudden and rapid decline. With his impending death, Evelyn was poised to inherit his wealth and estate. He insisted that she marry immediately, so that he would know she was well taken care of after his passing. Though Evelyn was reluctant, she was taken by surprise when her father announced he had already accepted a marriage proposal for her from a Lord Donovan Blackthorne. She had never met the man, but she had heard rumors that he was both incredibly charming as well as undeniably peculiar. Still, despite her reservations she could not bear to deny her father his dying wish. 

Some days later her father passed, and mere weeks after his burial she was escorted by the executor of her father's will to witness her marriage to Lord Blackthorne. Having never met the man Evelyn had to trust that her father agreed to the union with every faith that Lord Blackthorne would be a good husband for her. 

Initially, Evelyn finds her new husband to be more ordinary than her imagination conceived him to be, save for only a few small instances of strangeness. He is polite and seems kind, if a bit reserved. Over time she even develops a fondness for him, which he reciprocates, but she is astute enough to realize he keeps her at a safe distance and can't understand why. As time ticks on, she finds it hard to ignore certain things. He seems to be away or locked in the basement all hours of the day and awake late into the night, oftentimes going out into the city when he believes she is asleep. Despite being newly married, he has refused to share a bedchamber with her and has even expressly forbidden her to enter certain regions of the manor. The serving staff of his estate are sparse, and seemingly mute or entirely uninterested in carrying on conversation with her, even going so far as to outright avoid her when possible. After growing tired of too many unanswered questions and being far too inquisitive for her own good, Evelyn takes advantage of her husband's absence one night and attempts to investigate.[/hider]

This is just the beginning of the story, with many details and secrets yet to unfold. What will Evelyn discover about her new, mysterious husband? What about this man convinced her father to choose him for her to wed? Will her insatiable curiosity come back to bite her?
