A familiar voice caused Rain to finally lift her gaze from her hooves, smiling as she looked up at the green Pegasus that had landed near her. "Hello Wincent." She managed to reply, still rather embarrassed and somewhat overwhelmed by The series of events that had unfolded that day. Had she only moved here today? So much had happened... Blinking, Rain carefully shuffled thoughts of mysterious packages, letters, and crazy pranks off to The back of her mind, determined not to worry about any of that right now. Luckily for her, Vince recounted his own welcome story, which made her giggle, before he started pointing out a few of the specific ponies around them, which gave her plenty to focus on. She nodded in acknowledgment as Wincent indicated a mare with a green mane, Trying to memorize the features for future reference should she ever need to interact with the mayor. But her attempt was interrupted a moment later as the Pegasus stallion then pointed to a purple mare nearby, giving her the name of Princess Twilight Sparkle. Rain felt as if her brain stuttered for a moment, briefly going wide eyed and perhaps staring for a moment too long at the pretty alicorn. How could she have forgotten that there was another princess? One that lived in Ponyville of all places! Her amazement was momentarily dampened by another twinge of annoyance, For here was yet another pony much more capable of helping save Equestria then she herself was. With a concerted effort, Rain once again tucked those thoughts away in the back of her mind, giving her tail a flick that didn't quite subtle her apprehension. By the time she was able to collect herself enough to pay attention again and absorb the information, she had the vague impression of clothing, apples, and being shy before catching the name Rainbowdash, Vince pointing to a light blue Pegasus pony with appropriately colored mane and tail. Rain felt almost instantly jealous, she had always desired to have several colors in her hair, but quickly pushed the initial reaction aside. The last pony that Wincent pointed out specifically by name was a younger colt with a rare spotted coloring. 'I wonder what it is like to have a best friend.' Rainy Day mused, Glancing up at Vince at the note of genuine happiness in his voice when he mentioned Timmey. Before she could say much on the matter, the green stallion seemed a bit uncomfortable all of a sudden, taking a step away. She barely had enough time to get out, "Thank you." before he had taken off for the refreshment table, leaving her feeling somewhat confused at his abrupt retreat. Pinkie quickly jumped in a moment later, excitedly beginning to introduce Rain to some of the other ponies that she hadn't yet gotten the name of, effectively distracting the Pegasus mare from her worry. Partway through the extensive list of introductions, Mr. Cake diverted the hyper party pony with a selection of cupcakes that he claimed were brand new flavors while his wife smiled at Rain and encouraged her to go and mingle on her own terms, promising to keep Pinkie distracted for a little while at least so that the Pegasus could have a breather. Rain breathed a sigh of relief, warmly thanking the baker mare before she hurried away, searching out the refreshment table for herself. She had been doing an awful lot of talking and her throat was starting to get rather dry. Stepping Around a cluster of younger ponies, She made her way over to the table, noticing that Wincent was still there, Timmey at his side. "Hi Vince, hello Timmey." Rain greeted them politely, helping herself to some of the punch. The flavor was absolutely wonderful, a pleasant combination that washed away the dry feeling on her tongue. "enjoying the party?" She then asked the other two, glancing towards them and searching for any sign of the awkwardness that had been there before.
