Reed had been the last in line, behind Manasa, and he'd nearly tripped on his way out the door, just barely saving himself from the embarrassment of becoming close friends with the stone flooring of the Red Keep. The walk to the throne room took them past numerous Targaryen banners, majestic stained glass windows, and more than a few dragon skulls. He figured it was all to show the might of the king, which Reed felt compelled to mention, didn't need showing. You'd think the giant fucking dragons would be enough but I guess not. Upon their arrival in the throne room, Reed knelt with the others before standing back up, looking back at the king as he gave his speech. He couldn't help but let his eyes wander about the throne room, admiring the grandeur. Here, even more banners flew from the pillars, and the stained glass windows portrayed the story of Daenerys Targaryen, the first Targaryen queen after Rhaenyra. It showed her mothers flight from the Sack of King's Landing, her birth, her life as a beggar in Essos, her marriage to a Dothraki Khal, her birth of the dragons, her freeing the slaves of Astapor and Meereen, and finally, her conquering of Westeros. It was an exciting tale, one that Reed had been forced to learn by the Maester back in Winterfell. After the king's speech, Brandon whispered an invitation to breakfast, which Reed accepted with a nod. He began to follow them out, tapping Manasa on the way and motioning for her to join them. He hadn't realized how hungry he'd been but as thoughts of food entered his mind, his stomach growled. "That was an interesting speech, didn't you think?" Reed asked, turning to the Baratheons. He did like the king's idea of peace, although he saw it as slightly unattainable. But, the War of the Five Kings had plagued the Starks for far too long. Growing up, he'd been warned to be wary of three types of people. Freys, Boltons, and Lannisters. The tales of the Red Wedding and the dangers of the south came from everyone's mouth, and while he figured their fears were justified, he couldn't help but think that it seemed slightly excessive.
