What I had in mind is the following:

[*]"You" would go by any fake name. Literally, any. You can be Misha Collins, George Washington, Cat or anything else.
[*]I'm thinking of like actually using selfies. There's a few problems with this and I suppose describing yourself is an option too.
[*]We would still travel through multiverse worlds. Any AU or currently existing world is possible. 
[*]In addition to the comment above, we would gain powers, abilities and appearances through "completing worlds".
[*]IKEA would be our home base - solid food is HP, drinks is mana/rune/whatever points and desserts would be "stat up" items.
[*]More to come, etc, etc.

It has a few problems, but I think I can work it out if it got enough interest.
