"So many questions. That's good. We need an inquisitive group." Dr. Frank spoke to Van Pelt directly, but didn't do much to hide the comments. Van Pelt looked over the group and motioned for the doctor to take his seat. Frank happily sat and pulled up his plate. He began to dig in as Van Pelt sat next to him. The Colonel didn't touch the food, but kept looking around at the group. Jade could swear he looked a little disappointed. It may not have been his call to bring them to island. "As many of you know, Dr. Frank was the brilliant mind that perfected the Time Travel Equation. His machines allowed us to return to the past, but what you don't know is that the technology that derived from the formula has been stolen." Pause for dramatic effect. Jade shifted a little in her seat. Looking around the table, it didn't take a time travel engineer to figure out why they were here. The skillsets they had were diverse enough that they could only be a task force. "Very unfortunate, but we'll get them back. The machines make marks in the time line. They're fairly easy to detect, but -" "But, you need a few fools dumb enough to jump back in time and grab them for you." Jade proposed. Van Pelt looked to her and nodded. He wasn't going to argue it. Essentially, that was the idea. They're weren't the first team to join the operation and they probably wouldn't be the last. "Great, my field of study is ancient civilizations and I mostly excavate ruins. So where the hell are these people going that you need me." "There are two dozen machines missing. They are being used to travel all over time and their purpose isn't known until they get there."
