Just for the record, Andel wasn't the worldly man his great-great-great grandfather Alister was. I noticed you mentioned his "street knowledge" in the first post -- and that's fine, given that he was the sort of kid that liked to roam the streets and explore and all -- but just as a reminder, Andel likely wouldn't be able to pull off what Alister did. His grandpappy was the full "dashing rogue" package, with charm and skill and wit. Andel just has good reaction time and is well-read.
Oh I know, but you spent almost a year traveling with the group- the only reason the 5 mile trek was even POSSIBLE for Andel. (Speaking from experience, Objects that are at rest tend to stay at rest, if you catch my drift) That years worth of time, if you recall from my post, was spent acclimating you to life around the guild. Andel is smart- with only one other recruit so far who can rival those smarts. Which is why Andel avoided the arrows- but due to his lack of Physical prowess, was hit in the large sparring yard. His lack of physical ability also led him to take longer, and be more fatigued from attempting to navigate the wooded portion of the trek, In comparison to say, Ithill, being a beggar meant she wasn't smart enough to calculate and dodge arrows and attacks logically, but she knew to block. She was also used to running away or avoiding the harder paths from natural experience. Course nobodies perfect, you all did pretty bad compared to Xan or Kale- who have had 19 - 20 years of knights training. But that's the point of that part of the post- so later on not only can you see how your char has Changed, but how they have developed
