PoW is fuckhuge indeed. I'd attribute that to the dedicated core playerbase though, vilage, aaron, googer, hugs, and so on so forth. Were I able to keep up with it I'd probably still be in PoW (not that I haven't tried...). Also this list is pretty flawed, I think RP's should be judged by IC alone as OOC can be watered down by chatzies and such fairly easily. Needless to say it's not a good indicator of length. By IC the top ten would be... 1. Void of the Stars: A sci-Fi Nation Roleplay 2. Void of the Stars II 3. From Stardust, To Stardust 4. World in Revolution: 1861 5. Precipice of War - We Write Under The Sign Of The Goat (RPG ONLY) 6. Civilization Roleplay: Rise of Races (The Tribes of Nova Mondial Want You!) 7. The Elder Scrolls: Rising Storm 8. The Darkness Descends (Fantasy Conquest RP) 9. Colonial Powers NRP (Reboot/New Thread) 10. Untold Empires: Legacy of the Old
Fixed that for you (WiR 1861 had 400 IC posts).
I remember there was actually a period where everyone kept making "World in Revolution" RP's and it was the same core group of guys. They're all gone now. Yet PoW chugs on like a locomotive run on turf.
I wouldn't say that we're all gone. Many, but not all. And I am sure that you could find a game running on the Paradox forums. As Byrd Man said, it was kind of more of a "game" than a "story". I think the real problem with the game was that it requires a lot of work from the GM (stats, research, answering thousands of PMs, etc). That 1861 game (which Byrd and I were a part of) was like lightning in a bottle. This version worked, while all the subsequent ones did not.
