So, he decided that ignoring her hand to help him up was a better idea. Julia looked down at her hand as if to check to see if there was anything on it that would cause him to turn her down. Shrugging to herself, she pulled her white t-shirt down over her blue jeans and kicked her white tennis shoes against the ground. “Sorry where I come from I don’t run through a portal very often. Much less get thrown into a whole new world.” Hopefully the question wouldn’t arise of why she was running but hey, she’ll cross that bridge when they arrived. “Well Inane.” She said stepping in front of him to get his attention. “I do, and apparently I know more than you do right now so if you could try to talk to me like a partner instead of an annoying tag along. I’ll fill you in when we get there. We’re not too far away.” Her head rose and fell with a nod as she stepped past him and started off in a direction. As Julia walked, she did her best not to be too distracted with the sights and sounds of New York City but her attention span was obviously not very long because she would start to look around before realizing it and shaking her head. She had to stay focused, focus! They arrived at a rundown broken building that few people rented out. Beat up parked cars out front and a rusty looking elevator. Climbing inside she stuck one of the two sets of keys into start up. She typed in a number saying it out loud. “1876” With that she hit the up button and the elevator began to climb to the top of the run down building. At the top, she pulled open the door and pulled out her elevator key. Down the hall they went and she stopped at the door at the end of the hallway. Tossing the spare set of keys over her shoulder towards Inane she looked over at him with a grin. “This will be our home base while we work. Welcome to your home on earth.” With that she opened the door to reveal the apartment. Opening her backpack she pulled out some files and opened them setting them on the coffee table. “So here’s what I have, take a look.”
