Layna walked over to her window and carefully opened the curtains to see what was going on below. She unfortunately had the room that looked out into the front yard, since Annabelle had fought to make sure the daughter that wasn't hers wasn't given all of the special treatment. She could see the crowd of reporters and camera men set out by the gates, just waiting to pounce. There were a few of the house staff trimming the hedges and making the lawn look perfect, but other than that there wasn't a whole lot going on. That made her feel a little better, knowing that nobody was letting the reporters flood in past the gates, or that there was nobody blocking her from leaving. It felt like things were normal rather than a hectic mess since she decided that she wanted to continue going to her school. She wanted to get her degree after all. The girl quickly turned when she heard the knock on the door, she knew that she was edging on being late for classes, but she didn't think there'd be anyone that would check that out. She blinked a few times before dropping the curtains back over the window. She slowly walked over to her door and opened it to reveal a familiar face. She wasn't quite sure what to say to her father's butler, she rarely spoke to the man. "H-Hey, Adrian. I was just about to leave for school. Does my father need me?" She greeted, trying not to sound like she was bothered by the sudden appearance. She just really had no idea how to talk to the guy, since it was rare for her to talk to anyone outside her family members. Most of the house staff just avoided her anyway, knowing that she preferred to be alone. The only staff member she talked to on a regular basis was the cook, because she liked learning how to cook things on her own and the cook was known to spoil the girl by letting her taste test the foods.
