Appearance: Laehidon appears similar to many other Eldar in terms of standard appearance - that is to say, he is taller than most humans at roughly 210 cm tall, and yet noticably light for his height at only 62 Kg. His appearance, as with any Eldarin, is strikingly handsome, in his case particularly sharp-cheeked with pale yet penetrating blue eyes and pitch black hair cut and tied into a short ponytail, all complemented by skin as pale and unblemished as that of a marble statue. Despite his apparent physique, which some humans might say is almost feminine, his long limbs hide a certain power in them, capable of moving in far more flexible and dexterous manners than any human could hope to achieve, and often with more power to any physical blows he deigns to make to boot. Laehidon's armour is in stark contrast to this near-flawless capacity for motion. As a warrior of one of the few Aspects that utilises relatively heavy armour, the Dark Reapers of the Shrine of The Three Deaths, he is clad in a bulky suit of midnight-black armour composed of many interlocking plates to provide superior defense at the cost of motion, with skeletal bone-white markings down the right breast and abdomen and similarly-white markings on his shoulderplates, his spirit stone being contained in the reinforced breastplate on the left. The helmet he wears is similarly dark-coloured, save for the face plate, which depicts a leering bone white skull as part of its role as a death mask, and glaring purple visors to look out upon the world from, accentuated by similarly purple sensor vanes. The overall emphasis is that of a Destroyer, the very embodiment of that aspect of Khaela Mensha Khaine, and in turn of the "Harvester of Souls", Maugan Ra. Name: Laehidon Ylranel Age: 323 Aspect: Dark Reaper Path Progression: Path of Shaping (Bonesinger) -> Path of the Outcast (Ranger) -> Path of the Outcast (Corsair) -> Path of the Warrior (Dire Avenger) -> Path of the Thought Talker (Thought Talker) -> Path of the Seer (Warlock) -> Path of the Warrior (Dark Reaper) Equipment: Dark Reaper Aspect Armour - A lightweight synthetic bodysuit, reinforced with psycho-sensitive plastics that harden to resist impacts whilst also morphing with the wearer's movements to avoid hampering their mobility. Dark Reaper armour specifically includes various forms of support on the lower legs, including additional armour, stabilisers, and clamps, to allow the Dark Reaper to absorb recoil from their weapon; the suit as a whole also includes various small domes and blisters which contain various technical systems, in contrast with the Spirit Stone stored in the reinforced breastplate. Finally, a tabard hangs from the armour, detailing Laehidon's allegiance to the Shrine of The Three Deaths and to Eexamath Buanneth itself. Dark Reaper Aspect Helmet - The standard helmet of the Dark Reapers Aspect, slightly customised toward Laehidon's particular Shrine, incorporating a death mask to mark him in his role, as well as rangefinding sensor vanes extending out of the helmet to help achieve a target lock even on fast-moving vehicles. Inscribed upon it is the rune Dralith, that of the Dark Reapers Aspect and of Maugan Ra in particular. Torrent Reaper Launcher - A particular style of starswarm launcher utilising a cylindrical drum to load ammunition into the weapon, improving its ammo capacity over the standard Reaper Launcher, but conversely increasing its weight even after the addition of anti-gravity devices. The weapon utilises a mind-link with its bearer, effectively allowing Laehidon to "see" out of the barrel in addition to his normal sight, making it nigh-impossible for him to miss with a salvo, and thus allowing him to pick off targets almost at will. Laehidon presently carries clips of both the standard rapid-fire starswarm missiles- though still strong enough to easily pierce most forms of armour- as well as the more powerful starshot missiles when attack force needs to be concentrated into fewer shots. Psyker Powers: Technically speaking, Laehidon is no longer a Warlock, and is heavily disinclined to utilise any psychic powers for very obvious reasons. However, should the need arise, it happens that he can still adopt the mindset of the Warlock he used to be, and in doing so allow himself to channel his quite substantial psychic abilities, including both overt powers like the monstrous psychic projection of Executioner or raw energy blast of Destructor, as well as subtler abilities like Augment to boost the range of nearby psyker's abilities, Enhance to amplify his teammates' physical abilities further, and Conceal to shroud the minds of others in a psychic fog. However, with a lack of runes to work with to channel these abilities after abandoning the Path of the Seer, any use of these powers risks drawing the eye of She Who Thirsts, and potentially of both getting trapped in the Path of the Seer and of traversing toward the doom that befalls any Eldar whom freely indulges their whims for too long; as a result, he is exceptionally unlikely to actually use these abilities save for the absolute direst of circumstances. Marginally less risky are the leftover psychic abilities acquired from his time as both a Bonesinger and a Thought Talker. The latter in particular is what he is more likely to utilise in a spot, since whilst it still involves putting on the right mask, it is more immediately useful than the rather ritualised nature of bonesinging, as it allows him to remain in contact with others from long distances. With the appropriate communication devices to hand, though, he'd still much prefer to not utilise such telepathic abilities unless he has to for the same reasons that he'd rather avoid outright reverting to a Warlock-esque state. Personality: Comparatively speaking, Laehidon could be considered a young adult - that is to say, he has largely gotten over the impetuousness of his youth, but nevertheless has a lot to learn compared to those older than himself. He also has high ambitions, with the aim of eventually taking on the Path of Command and becoming an Autarch, and intends to pass through a number of Warrior Aspects before then; for this reason, he considers the possibility of becoming incapable of removing a mask to be terrifying, moreso than other Eldar, for it would mean his final goal becomes impossible in addition to all else that something like Exarchdom entails. That said, he is quite proud of his prior skill in as many Paths as he has already occupied, in particular of his time spent as a Ranger, for that shows the truth of his will to succeed; generally speaking, though, he does his best to be polite, even friendly to others of his kind, and not to brag about his ideal future, for to do so invites little other than ill will, and perhaps portents of a more damning sort if he is not careful. In the mask of the Dark Reaper, this is all replaced with a dour, nihilistic mindset. Though he does not quite believe that the fate of the Eldar is a slow death in his normal personality, illusions therein are wiped away outright within this mask, and his only desire as a Dark Reaper is to see his opponents destroyed, that the Eldar might take as many hapless mon-keigh with them as possible, starting with whatever sacrifice Laehidon might need to make to kill as many as possible. Indeed, as part of the Shrine of The Three Deaths, the destruction of their physical bodies is only the first step in this obliteration, and his commitment to the concepts of atherakhia and mael dannan- indeed, his desire to see his opponents ended down to the level of their very soul- is only tempered by his awareness of how risky using his psychic powers for such a base purpose is, particularly knowing how likely it is for the Etherium to crush the souls of most opponents in its uncaring wake regardless. Bio: By the standards of Eldar, Laehidon is not necessarily as cautious as some of their number might think is appropriate. Indeed, his very first Path was that of the Path of Shaping, one which requires patience and control beyond that of most young Eldar. This was just as true for Laehidon as it was for any other, and he grew frustrated with the art, even when he excelled at it. Eventually, he came to grow annoyed with how rigid his lifestyle was, and in combination with his frustration, this led him to abandon the Paths outright, moving off-planet and taking on the equipment of a recently-returned Ranger, in turn taking on the mantle that such a task required. He had, of course, heard tales of those on the Path of the Outcast who failed to constrain their thought patterns, and in failing to do so allowed their souls to be consumed by She Who Thirsts. Thus, he surprised himself when this turned out to be a moot issue - for many decades, he performed his part as a Ranger without complaint, managing to safely restrain his emotions for the duration of his role, until the day that what should have been a routine trip through the Webway led him instead to the scene of a battle between Eldar Corsairs and a small group of the Imperium's Astra Militarum. Naturally, he assisted his brethren in the task of destroying the mon-keigh, only to be asked after the battle was over if he would like to join them. Surprised, but ultimately swayed by promises of loot beyond compare, he agreed. This, it turned out, would prove to be the seed of his future Path choices. He found the life of the corsair enticing, its heated battles extremely enjoyable and the locations seen often exotic beyond compare, and it only took a few years for him to start losing himself to the role. This was eventually realised after a particularly introspective and inactive day, and he immediately decided that he wished to return to his Craftworld and channel his tendencies toward more productive situations. Duly returned, he was accepted back into the fold, and took up the Path of the Warrior as a Dire Avenger for some time, perfecting it to the greatest degree he felt was possible before moving on to a less battle-focused Path, that of the Thought Talker. Though he was at first content in this role, he realised over time that his blood called for battle, that perhaps his destiny- or at least his ambition- was of a grand scale, one which would require more years than he currently had to realise. This ultimately triggered his switch from the Path of the Thought Talker to the Path of the Seer. It was, perhaps, a logical choice to become a Warlock, having had experience with utilising his psychic abilities in two separate areas, and at the same time satisfying the call to battle that he had felt for some time, all whilst improving his lifespan alongside his ever-improving psychic abilities. Indeed, he spent more than a hundred years on the Path of the Seer, longer than even his time as a Ranger, in the process becoming rather exceptionally skilled in the use of his powers for one who had not fallen to the lure of the Farseer. Yet this lure could not be avoided eternally. It ultimately began to be the case that he found the mask of the Seer harder and harder to remove, and though he knew the role of Farseer to be prestigious, he realised that he feared such a locking-in beyond any other fate save the grasp of She Who Thirsts itself. His goal, he'd decided long ago, was nothing less than to become an Autarch, and impediments to this were, in his mind, unacceptable. He said his goodbyes to the Seers of his Craftworld that very day, and joined the Path of the Warrior once again, this time as a Dark Reaper, which he has remained a part of to this day, and foresees that he will spend many more years in before his next Path. Other: Though he doubts it will happen, he desperately hopes that the doom of the Exarch will not begin to reel him in during this mission, for if it does, he will have no recourse for avoiding it save by vastly reducing his own battle effectiveness, which is of course an unacceptable deviation from the Paths amongst the Eldar.
