Meifeng Zhao, Cindy Keagan, & Kei Phan.
[sub]Written in collaboration with [@Mr Allen J].[/sub]
It wasn't long before Kei came to. He was in the DOVE/RAVEN Headquarters medical wing... A reinforced room, and he had a power suppressant collar placed around his neck. Other than that, there were no other restraints. Though, in case anything went wrong, the room would be immediately gassed with the red gas RAVEN is known for, and he would be placed in a safer area. As he woke up, he would notice a few people were in the room. A few RAVENS, and a DOVE. In particular, Meifeng Zhao, whom he met yesterday, and Cindy Keagan. The first thing Kei realised, before even taking notice of his surroundings, was that he was thirsty. Really thirsty. It took him another moment to remember exactly what had happened - it seemed that he was still hit with the dehydration after using his power after losing control. He tried not to think about it too much - what had happened happened, so he pushed it out of his mind. He blinked, glancing around the room that he was in. Well this was... interesting. He'd never been arrested in his life so this was all a new experience. He knew what the collar around his neck was but couldn't bring himself to care about it. It wasn't like he was attatched to using his power anyway. He eventually noticed the people that were also in the room. He recognised one, to his surprise. He hadn't paid enough attention to the conversation the night before to remember more than Meifeng's name. He didn't always pay attention when Lihn spoke to people. That was another thing he didn't want to think about. What his sister's reaction would be to all of this. "Uh, can I have some water to drink?" "Yeah, sure." Cindy answered as she held the clipboard in hand. She looked at Meifeng, and gestured for the door. Meifeng rolled her eyes as she stepped out the door to go get it. She faced Kei, and then nodded. "Kei, are you aware of what happened to you at the Havenfield Market?" "I- yeah," Kei frowned slightly as he tried to work out what exactly to say. "I was awake the whole time I just wasn't exactly in control." He paused. "That doesn't normally happen, my power has only ever been very weak." "I see." Cindy said, as she wrote a few things. "I hate to drop the ball on you this soon, but we suspect that there was foul play here...." She started off. "We found a dart injected into your neck, there were traces of the Metahuman energy inside, but we're attempting to probe into this further." "Oh." Kei didn't seem anywhere near as bothered, or shocked, by that as he should have. It was a surprise but his way of dealing with this, and the situation, was an odd lack of emotion visibly. However calm he seemed (he wasn't, it was more apathy) he still found the thought of the dart off putting. Why had it been him anyway? "When I lost control before I only made things a bit colder, and froze a bit of water. Something like that happening makes sense to me." He hesitated. "If you're going to ask, I don't know anyone who would want to do that to me." "We don't know who could have been behind it either... Which is why we're going to look into the matter to the best of our abilities." Cindy nodded her head, and was amazed that Kei could be this calm. "But, we have to discuss what we're going to do with you in the meantime..." She handed the clipboard over to Kei, and on it was basically permission to run a few tests on him. "Our docs want to run a few tests on you, and see what they can find was put into you." Kei looked down at the clipboard that he had been handed, skim reading the first page. It didn't seem all that bad - and to be honest this kind of thing didn't bother him. He was also curious to know what had been put into him. "Okay, so do you need me to sign this?" His sister was so going to kill him after this - but he was an adult now, so she could hardly claim it was her job to sign these kinds of things. "If you want to undergo testing, yes." Cindy leaned forward, and pointed at a few areas on the paper. "Just sign here." Kei nodded, pausing with a pen above the first area as he tried to remember how he signed documents. When he did he signed each of the areas and handed the clipboard back over to Cindy. "That's it all signed." "Good." Cindy stated. "We'll try to get the tests done as quickly as possible - but there's more we have to discuss." At this moment, Meifeng stepped back into the room holding a paper cup full of water. She stepped over, and handed it to Kei. She pointed two fingers at him, and playfully said, "Don't go freezing anyone with that, okay?" She laughed. Cindy sighed. "... As I was sayin'." Her more African-American accent began to shine through. "We also have to discuss your... protection." Cindy sighed. "As a DOVE, you were seen losing control of your abilities, and you may be the victim of... Anti-Metahuman crimes." Cindy started off. "We possibly have to put you on a protection program for the time being - which means you'll be in Headquarters for a little bit while we try to sort this out." Kei thankfully took the water from Meifeng, sipping it as he listened to what Cindy said. A frown formed on his face and he looked a bit more worried than he had before. He'd never particularly taken notice of the tension between non-metahumans and metahumans but it seemed that it was quite a thing to worry about. "If being in protection program is what's best I'll do that. I live with my sister and niece... They're metahumans too and I don't want them affected by this." Especially Thanh. The last thing he wanted was for her to become a victim too. "Is that likely to be neccesary?" "Yes." Cindy regretfully said. "The tension between man and Metahuman are reaching a boiling point." She sighed. "You may very well be a target." "Well if it's neccesary for me to stay safe," Kei shrugged. It wasn't ideal, he like his room at home, but he would deal with it. "My sister will probably be unhappy about it, but she'll have to deal with it. How long would it be for?" "A few months." Cindy answered. "Possibly longer." Kei nodded, though there was a slight sigh along with that. He'd hopefully be able to get some of his stuff from home... And if there was a bed he could sleep in it for most of the day. A few months would be fine. "Well, look on the brightside, Kei," Meifeng chimed in as she leaned up against the wall. "You ge to hang out with the cool RAVENS for awhile." She started laughing. "Assuming that any of the RAVENs actually are cool I guess that could be a brightside to this, yes," Kei responded neutrally.
