Gavin jumped, startled almost out of his skin when the young man suddenly appeared out of thin air on the porch.

At the mention of breakfast he remembered that he had not eaten any yet and was quite hungry.  He followed the two adults into the dining room and found an empty chair to sit in.  He cleaned every bit of his bowl of oatmeal, but didn't add any of the items available though he did take an apple and devour it down to the core, saving only the seeds.
