I wouldn't let a small factor like that deter me from a concept I really liked. If you prefer stat-based RPs, why mill around on a forum where the vast majority are freeform, literary-based? Tabletop scratches that itch.

On the contrary, I find that freeform is much less limiting than a hard numbers RP; outcomes are more interesting to me when they're open-ended and allow for flexibility, and without numbers, I can concentrate on what's really important: the narrative.
