"Hey, what can I say? I may be a crime fighting super hero, but first and foremost I'm a teenage guy filled with hormones." Peter replied to her remark, his face turning a bit red. "And also I don't need your sass. I'm the sassy one in this relationship." Peter added, before putting his hands on her waist as she pressed up against him. "If I had known that I could get away with things like that, I would have started dating you much sooner." There was sarcasm in Peter's voice, he went in to kiss Lexi until the bell stopped them, which wasn't much of a surprise. Everything was out to end their little moments together. --- Was Peter nervous? When he was Spider-Man, not much did. Tonight was an exception though. He was trying to prevent an assassination of his boss, while working with another vigilante. The New York super hero club was now up to three (not counting the Avengers). Daredevil was the second to arrive on the rooftop. "Looks like you believed my story. Its a weird feeling." The masked man said with laughter in his voice. He walked up next to Lexi, kneeling down himself and letting his ears channel through the streets of Manhattan. "Where is the other one?" Daredevil asked, his head moving to look at Lexi. It was hard for the man not to be concerned about his goddaughter, and even harder not blow his cover. "Here! I am here!" Spider-Man yelled as he landed on the roof, walking over to the two of them. "Sorry, I had to talk to uh... HQ before I made it over here." Spider-Man said, rubbing the back of his masked head as he took a seat next to Lexi. Of course "HQ" was explaining to Aunt May where he was off to a this time of the night. "So, what's the plan?" Spidey asked, excitement in his voice. "We wait." "Oh..." "You sound disappointed." "What? No! I've always wanted to sit on a rooftop for hours hanging out with people in a cat and devil outfit." And so, the night went like that. The light in J.J.'s office was on, the night didn't change whatsoever, and there was a lot of awkward silences. Peter would almost ask Lexi how she thought she did on a test they took, or asking if she wanted to study at his place or hers tomorrow, or just regular things, but Big Bad Devil was over their shoulders. Peter would walk along the side of the building, and doing trick web shots. "So, you think I could try those nunchucks out someti--" "No." "Aw come on! those aren't the kind you get at karate class!" "Which is exactly why I won't let you use them." "Look, I'll trade ya! One nun chuck, and I'll give you a web shooter! Tradesees! People talk about them all the time! They can turn into a staff, and can bounce off walls, that's Captain America grade stuff!" "Be quiet." "You don't have to get snappy with me--" "No, the building. Something's wrong." Spider-Man walked over to the edge again, looking at the office. "What? It's just the same thing we've been looking at." Spider-Man said, looking at him. Daredevil then looked at Black Cat. "Do you hear it too?" The Devil of Hell's Kitchen asked to her. "In the building. There's footsteps. Very very faint. They aren't Jameson, they'd be louder." Peter finally understood what was happening. The assassins managed to get into the building, and were about to complete their mission.
