Yes, but the plot should be loose. It should be a general direction rather than an exact path. Now, how about we do the rehabilitation thing, and she's put there forcefully by the people in charge because she's a criminal. She's reprogrammed to want to be romantically involved, buts he wouldn't act on those feelings (at least at first) because she knows they're not her own feelings.
