Table and chairs, what in the world were they doing in the underpass? He shrugged inwardly, accepting the eccentricity of his strange partner in crime. If he was the sort he might have been amused at her remarks then, well on his way to impressing her? He smiled, though it did not quite reach his eyes. Archon, reveal yourself? Lekh started in alarm, his right hand shooting to the gun holstered on his hip (security issue handgun) and a Polish curse word leaving his lips as he momentarily lost his composure. Lekh was no coward, pragmatic maybe and not particularly prideful, but panicking offered no advantage to the professional criminal. However, while the man could accept meta-humans and impossible acts, the appearance of a sudden monstrosity directly out of nightmare was almost more than he could stand. If not for Odette’s calm introduction, Silence would have probably drawn and unloaded on the horned beast the Ambassador called ‘Archon’. Instead he stood, steadying himself, his hand over his holstered pistol as his mind fought to adjust to new information. “That is an ally of yours?” Lekh asked, struggling to keep the fear out of his voice. His nose wrinkled at the stench of the moss-strewn creature, but he kept a hold of his reaction and mastered it, replacing the mask. He paused as the sounds of the disturbance in the back of the vehicle also reached his ears. The Ambassador asked the obvious question, wasn’t she sedated? “She was. Perhaps her ability to manipulate metal was not the only change in her biology?” He theorized with a calm detached air, as Odette rounded the vehicle to stand by the back. The Pole suspected the noises emanating from within, and maintained a cautious distance as the door burst forth and the girl within poured out. “Careful. Remember she was in the CDC, she may be contagious.” He wasn’t sure how relevant his warning would be to an evidently supernatural individual like Odette, but he figured it was worth a mention. He had actually taken steps in that regard himself, quickly pulling a simple doctor’s mask from one of his pockets and putting it around his mouth and nose. It would only protect him from airborne contagion, but it was better than nothing. He wasn’t sure if The Ambassador was going to deal with Racheli or not, he was pretty sure he could leave her to the meta-human. Thing was, he was hired to do a job, and part of that was delivering Racheli to The Ambassador. He couldn’t have his target running off, not when she was still technically his problem. Lekh walked up beside Racheli cautiously with a plastic syringe in his hand, filled with the same liquid he injected the driver with. He’d actually stolen it from the CDC while he was working, four syringes to be exact, two were empty and made of metal, and he had them stowed away in his pocket, two were filled with powerful sedatives. “I am sorry about this, panienka.” The Polish criminal, ever apologetic, made to exploit Racheli’s weakness and press the syringe into her exposed neck, forcing the sedative into her bloodstream. It may take its time, but in her current state she could not resist for long…
