"MOVE!" Without seeing behind him Hiiko was unable to assess what was truly happening, but the shout was definitely directed at them. Harstac was already stumbling sideways. It seemed like his steps had switched into slow motion. There was no time. With a thrust of his shoulder Hiiko collided with Mel's arm knocking her onto the seat of her pants. Surely he would get an earful about it later. Yet at that split second his mind went from his lighthearted joke to pain as a burning sensation gripped at his upper arm. The general idea was that pain was lesser in the moment, Bullshit. Hiiko felt every bit of flesh pierced by the arrow, whose impact was more or less unaffected by the soft skin and muscle it had ripped through. The gash itself likely looked worse than it actually was. Crimson streaks had already begun to reach his fingers and drip to the dirt beneath him forming a small puddle. Finally Hiiko had regained enough awareness to notice the commotion occurring behind him. Mostly Ryun's effortless gait in what seemed like battle ready armor. It seemed excessive but then again Hiiko had just taken an arrow to the arm so what did he know. Inspecting his arm Hiiko couldn't help but grin. It wouldn't be the last time, however in battle would have been more appropriate for his first time -- so he thought at least. The recurring theme of Mel yanking Hiiko to and fro continued with her pulling at his good arm in the direction of the wagon. As far as she knew there could be more incoming fire or perhaps it was a stray shot. Either way she wasn't taking the chance and if she didn't act on behalf of their safety Hiiko would have likely continued standing in the open admiring his fresh wound.
