Passing beyond the tall underbrush and to the river bank itself, Alex frowned as he looked around. There was....nothing here, which was good and bad. It was bad since it meant that there was nobody here, and who knew where they might be at the moment. But it was good in that it wasn't a trap. Probably. There was still plenty of time for a trap to be sprung. Yet he was momentarily distracted from that by the sight of the temple across the river. That was interesting, good even. Where there was a temple there tended to be valuable stuff, perhaps even treasure or Relics. He wouldn't have been surprised to learn that if they headed inside and ended up finding something. It was just a matter of, well, getting there, getting inside, finding the Relic, all that stuff. But hey, one thing at a time. He would focus on the details once he got to that point. At that point though it was obvious that the voice had not belonged to anyone that he knew. Thinking on it for a moment brought the possibility that this was what they were waiting for, but his curiosity got the better of him regardless. So he looked on, and ended up brought up short by what he actually saw. Well then, that was....ugly. "What are you then," he muttered to himself as he came up short, watching the thing as it watched him, almost like a competitive staring match as he waited for something to happen. So, what now?
