It takes a good bit of patience, understanding, and the restraint not to call someone a stupid fucking tosser for trying to finagle something in they shouldn't. More than any of that though, a good GM knows there's always more to learn and that no one is perfect, so you've got that going for you lol.

I've seen some awful GMs in my time here on RPG and a few other sites, ones that used their own RP as an excuse to powerplay against the players and steal material just to make their own nations better.
