Literally my reaction to her response, as it just sounds like a childish one up statement within the land a of make believe. For example, say if two kids are fighting each other with imaginary beasts, and one says that his is all powerful. The other kid then says that his can limit power. at some point along this line if it continues it becomes so ridiculous that even the kids realize what they are saying is just stupid and made to counter what the other said with out any real explanation backing it up. There is a limit to how far you can reasonably one up and change what you have said before to counter what someone else says before it just becomes a pile of BS and becomes ridiculous. I'm not saying it's out of the realm of possibility or that she couldn't have done what she said, but it's still stretching it is all i think. In fact it is quite human and helps to make the character's personality more believable.
She's actually being rather realistic; Ma'at's an extremely powerful character. It's the fact that Dark David is extremely clever and sets a lot of traps. Under most circumstances, you're entirely correct. Going through a list of "This counters this counters that" is rather ridiculous, but when dealing with either Dynamo, they plan for what someone else will do several steps later, not plan for one response. So going from "it was ineffective because I planned it" to "I froze the dimension" is actually entirely realistic because she did that from the beginning, and I/Dark David planned the entire fake out from the beginning.
