[@Stein] I feel like Andrew’s where I want him to be at just this moment. He’s in limbo right now, both appreciative of what he’s got while feeling like he’s settling rather than satisfied. But since he doesn’t know for sure what he wants, he’s afraid to risk what he has by taking any other road than the one he’s already on. Since he doesn’t know how any changes will affect what he’s got. I guess he’s trying to keep the status quo. The problem being that he probably can’t be a university groundskeeper forever, and Janelle will be moving on with her life in a year or three and so will everyone else in the crowd he pals around with now. And, I think, right now, he needs a boost to become a bit more confident in himself and his ability to weather life’s challenges. He’s learned some, of course, with his heart, but that’s a very specific challenge that has limited his life for quite some time and I think that’s the point he needs to step past. Since he’s used to thinking ‘if I can’t do that, then I won’t, no harm, no foul,’ instead of trying to find alternative solutions. I’m imagining the superhero thing as being the point where he decides to put his foot down and keep trying, because it feels like that’s the sort of thing you should do when you’ve grown up in a city the Mavericks protected and happen to have powers. I don’t know where that’ll take him, as I’m not sure if he could realistically take up crime fighting or if he’d even think it’s for him if he does get through the first few rough patches. But at the end of the day, I’m hoping it’ll leave him with a better understanding of what’s been holding him back, greater confidence, probably a few moral issues to figure out, good friends, and the opportunity to at least be a behind the scenes supporter. But he definitely needs something to shake him out of his complacency. Where things go from there, I’m still working out. :P
Goddammit Nemaisare, I LOVE a content rich character, and yours is fucking decadent. I can send a small child hurtling through his bedroom window, that should get 'im moving. I've done it [s]irl[/s] in a RP before
