[@AtomicNut] I'm not sure what the Ring is about aside from a quick web search, so I'm not sure what you were drawing on.  Tropes are common across works, so if you're using something from a work that fits a trope, it's still the trope, even if the trope itself wasn't the source of your inspiration.  Greedy dragon is a trope, regardless of what made you want to use it.
