They can be human but more like 'normal human' 
Any killer types for this one would be working with the scientists

Hence the affiliation of: human, scientist, supernatural working with scientists,supernatural hiding, or supernatural fighting. 

Make sense? If humans were just killing in addition to scientists it would be too many killers and not enough regular.
