Meryn blinked at the two would-be revolutionaries behind her mask. Because… seriously? Was now the time? The fairy flitted about, and Meryn's eyes widened at what it said. She spun around to look at the beacon – the portal – bright and ominous in the sky. They needed to get underground. Meryn whipped back around, looking between the fairy and the woman. Her hand dove into her bag and curled around the magus lens. She held it out to the woman, tapping at the glass eye on her mask as she did so. Still holding the lens out, she looked over her shoulder to see the city. Tar black shadows leaked into the frantic dreams. The city air darkened as the color was snuffed out. A shout and a clamor came from the fire escape. Meryn spun and looked at the woman again, pushing the magus lens towards her. Then she very unceremoniously grabbed the fairy and shoved it towards the woman too. Meryn darted back towards the fire escape and bent over the edge of the roof to see the man trying to scramble his way up the ladder. A demon was following behind him. Meryn thrust her hand down for him to grab, her heart in her throat.
