He hoped that there would be something that could clue him in on how they could disperse the domes. Even though the domes were expanding extremely slowly and were becoming less dense as a finite amount of material spreads out to cover a greater space, the domes would nevertheless affect countless people before the domes become so thin that the mutagenic effect would be harmless to humans. Chris kept hearing the same words spoken by Doctor Diplodoc, pondering on whether anything the scientist had said could be useful. Then it hit him. Chris realized that this Doctor Diplodoc mentioned that he had a contingency plan set in place for preventing criminals in the countless prisons and jails from obtaining powers via the metadomes. Somehow, whatever device that the good doctor had planted in these facilities, they would prevent these certain individuals from being granted these gifts. Maybe somehow it could get rid of the domes. Since Team 1 seemed to have a firm handle on its objective, Chris decided that it would be safe for him to head out to Tartartus Island, where one of Lost Haven’s prisons were located. Although Team 2 seemed to have run into a little trouble, if Team 1 could defeat Diplodoc’s allies, they could go and apprehend the good doctor. “Guys,” Chris said into his earpiece that was connected to those worn by the other heroes. “I might have a lead on getting rid of these darn domes. Also, Icon, be ready to fly back. I might have a job for you”
Doctor Diplodoc sat in his chair, peering at the multiple monitors that stood in front of him. Although he had underestimated the number of heroes that would rally against him, he still had a back-up plan. Before the heroes arrived, he had the Silver Sorceress cast a spell that, if released from the bottle that it had been contained in, would act like a second wind for his allies. Diplodoc’s allies would either receive a boost of energy or regain consciousness if they had been knocked out. He reached out and picked up the enchanted bottle. When he pulled off the bottle’s lid, a blue colored gas billowed up, hanging above him. After it lingered there for a couple minutes, the magically-enchanted cloud darted out of the room and headed towards his allies. First, it passed by where Effigy was located. Since Doctor Diplodoc did not want this spell to blow Effigy’s cover, the Silver Sorceress designated the spell to affect both Effigy and the person whom Effigy was mimicking. Then, the cloud passed over the second team, leaving them bewildered about what had just happened. The enchantment zoomed away until it arrived in the room where the large battle was being fought. It first reenergized both Jaws and Sumac, the Silver Sorceress’ sister, who were the only two villains still standing. With this second wind, Jaws’ barrage of punches flew all the faster at Lyger and Bast, whom he had been engaged with ever since he switched targets with Black Widow. Once it was finished with Jaws and Sumac, the charm then restored Black Widow and the Silver Sorceress from being unconscious. Black Widow was the first to leap back into the fray, engaging with the two speedsters, as was her task before Radiance decided to fry the drider. Meanwhile, the Silver Sorceress received different orders from their leader, Doctor Diplodoc. “Begin our endgame.” He calmly spoke into her ear piece. “I don’t know why we did not start with this spell.” The Silver Sorceress retorted at the doctor’s commands. “Because our endgame hinges on more than just your magic, Victoria.” The Silver Sorceress then turned to her sister. Without anything besides a nod being exchanged between the two sisters, they knew what they needed to do. Since this spell would put her sister in a vulnerable state, Sumac had to stand by to provide her with support. The silver-clad woman held her hands close together as she whispered her magical words into her palms. Suddenly, all the light within her vicinity began to rush into the small space between her hands. While the room began to dim, a sphere of light began to form between the sorceress’ hands. Soon, the entire area would be shrouded in darkness, except for the light being emitted by the ball that the Silver Sorceress held.
