Alexandra grew up dirt poor in the middle of NYC.  The youngest of a brood of seven most of the family's money struggles were lost on her for most of her life.  The only thing she knew is that they were poor,  and that people can make fun of you for being poor.  She worked as hard as she could through school,  and eventually became the first in her family to go to college.

Alexandra works tirelessly,  with failure and homelessness nipping at her heels if she stops.  She gets up each morning,  with a smile on her face,  mostly because she doesn't have any alternative and doesn't particularly see any point in getting down about it.  Would complaning more help any?  Doubtful

Alexandra fluctuates between dreamer and realist.  She has to stay anchored in reality if she wants to achieve her lofty goals,  but the pressure sometimes leaves her daydreaming of greener pastures where the fear of failure wasn't so palpable.  She likes to believe the best of people when she can,  and generally sees the world as a place where you dreams can come true,  but only if you're willing to work for them.

Alexandra is an avid regular of the bar-hopping/clubbing scene.  She's facinated by the throng of people that gather with the intention of burying their problems in drink,  or dancing away the worries of their busy lives.  There's something about getting lost in all that excitement that resonates with her.
