He's hungry to be the best. I don't know if his humility and selflessness can overcome his drive for power to achieve his goal. Plus, he probably doesn't trust anyone else enough. He thinks he can do everything, and if taking another, even if it means no one else gets it, he might do it to try to protect everyone. I just don't know about him.
