Marcos is a tall young man of fair hair and brown eyes. His sides are cut short, the rest of it is usually a wild mess. His build can be described as athletic, but not very muscular. His clothes are usually informal, although he can be seen wearing button-down shirts every now and then. What he likes most about himself is the [url=http://cdn3.sortra.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/10/compass-tattoo-design06.jpg]tattoo[/url] of a compass that he has on his right shoulder blade, a reminder of where he comes from and what he wants to accomplish in life. In his younger years Marcos used to wear glasses, but thanks to laser eye surgery that is not an issue anymore. He talks pretty fast and in an energetic way, as if everything that comes out of his mouth is an incredible story. He normally sports a beard and hates to shave, something that in his eyes makes him look way too young. 

Weapon: Standard issue handgun. His unique weapon is an antique Rapier named "Aurai", that has been passed down in the Van Elcor family for generations. The pommel is made out of gold and is adorned with a number of small emeralds. The blade itself is made out of finest steel, and when the sun hits it just right, one can appreciate a reflection that covers every spectrum of the rainbow. Althouth the Reaper is antique, its metal never dulls and requires minimal care to stay sharp and deadly. Marcos has trained with the weapon for many years, perfecting various elegant fighting techniques that can only be described as fluid and agile. The training allows Marcos to perform slashes that carry through the air, allowing him to slice objects from a distance.

Personality: Marcos is cheerful and very energetic. In contrast to everyone in his family, he cares little about arts and sciences, and prefers experiencing extravagant stuff and enjoying the small things in life. He is smart, but lazy, and can be very naive from time to time. Being a hot-head, he is bad at taking things slowly and with caution, but is very good at thinking on his feet and being spontaneous. He enjoys making those around him laugh, frequently using sarcasm, and has a pretty positive outlook on life. Even when things get tough, Marcos manages to see a silver lining and stay positive. He talks [i]a lot[/i], which has gotten him into plenty of trouble over the years. Thanks to his life as a thief, Marcos has become very proficient at lying, which means one should not always take everything he states at face value. Trusting people does not come easy to him, but those who gain that trust can rely on a loyal friend. 

History: The Van Elcor family has been a staple of Pietys' history for as long as its inhabitants can remember. The great Matthias Van Elcor founded the city with a few other wealthy families, wanting to establish a mekka for artists, philosophers, scientists and whoever else claimed to be working on improving mankind's life and culture. What started off as a small city has developed into one of the largest and most well-known metropolis of Algareth. Over the years, the main focus shifted from art and sciences to finances and banking, laying the foundation for years of prosperity and growth for the city. The Van Elcor family runs one of the biggest banks of the continent, but also sponsors various foundations and public services. 

Marcos is the son of Dilmer and the youngest of three siblings. Life was pretty easy for him, as everything he could ask for was provided instantly. Although he received the best education available, Marcos had trouble being academically succesfull like his siblings were before him. It's not that Marcos was not intelligent, rather, he was too lazy to do the assigned work, and preferred pulling pranks with his classmates and do nonsense all day. One would describe him as being the odd-one out of the Elcors. When his family went to see a play, Marcos preferred to hang out at the arcade. When everyone was reunited for a nice sunday brunch, Marcos would sleep in until late into the afternoon. His brother, John, is 5 years older than him and is slated to become the next CEO once their father steps down. His sister Yenna is a gifted violinist and has been performing in several pieces all over the country. Marcos on the other hand has never found his intended path in life, trying out many different things but sticking to none. The one constant in his life has been his sword training, the only place where the wild and cheerful Marcos would turn into a serious and hard-working individual. The training brought him peace, and allowed him to express his energetic personality like no other hobby could. This whole situation didn't work out forever though, as the 21-year-old Marcos had to find out.

His father, disappointed by the lack of hard work and accomplishments of his son, gave Marcos an ultimatum: Either start working in the families' company to become a productive member of society, or leave the family residence and fend for himself. No matter how much his mother begged him to be reasonable and give it a try, Marcos had no trouble making his decision to leave behind the life he knew. He took very little stuff with him, the most important item among them being the family Rapier. His intention was to sell it off to make some money, but he realized he had grown too attached to it to let it go. Which meant Marcos had to find a different way to make a living...

Fast forward 3 years, and Marcos has become a pretty succesful forger and thief. He works with different crews, as long as the crime is non-violent and targets wealthy businesses or families. He has also left behind his family name, for obvious reasons, going only by Marcos Vee. Business was good, and the young man enjoyed the freedom that came with the job. He had his little appartment, pretty much anything he could ask for, and still trained with his Rapier as a way of relaxing. This lifestyle though, once again, would not last forever. It happened during a pretty regular job, Marcos and 3 accomplices were breaking into some facility to steal a prototype machine. Nothing indicated this was anything special, until the group got inside. What they encountered was security beyond anything they had ever seen, and counter-measures that were far beyond their capabilties. That's how Marcos finally got arrested, and got to spend a few months in a high security prison. 

One day, as he was sitting in his cell, a guard approached him. "Get up V, you got a visitor, let's go". A visitor? It had been around 16 months since he got in, and yet in all that time he had never had someone visiting him. Not that Marcos expected anyone to show up, so who could be this mystery person? It turned out to be a well-dressed, older man. He was wearing a suit, and had a stack of papers right in front of him on the table. "Thank you. I'll take things from here. Don't forget to turn off the cameras. Please sit Marcos." The man's voice was calm, his tone commanding. Whoever he was, he had plenty of authority, that much was clear. "So, Mister Vee..." he started, chuckling "Shame you don't go by Van Elcor anymore, that sounds so much more sophisticated." Alright, whoever this man was, he knew stuff. Marcos tried to play it cool, but his nervousness still showed in his flickering eyes. "Well, today might just be your lucky day Elcor. I have a proposition for you. One that will get you out of this cell, back out there. You can look at it as another job, one unlike any you have ever taken before. Honestly, I don't get why they picked you, but who am I to question these things. Here is everything you need to know." When he finished, he slided over the stack of papers, so that Marcos could read them. [i][color=ed1c24]Project: Kingsglaive[/color][/i] was written on the top.
