Her father was the Clan's medicine man, using very crude and simple methods to take care of the clanspeople, her mother died when she gave birth to Molly due to complications and the lack of medicine. Life has never been easy for the young girl, having to live underground and surviving off very little. The tribe relies on cultivating roots and the few plants that can grow in harsh environments, their society is built around caring and helping each other. Molly's education is rather poor, as the tribe only teaches things that are essential for surviving, especially agriculture. Her father taught her a few things about medicine, which used to be Molly's favorite way of passing time. She loved watching her father take care of people and has learned a few things about patching up wounds and making basic mixtures out of plants and other ingredients. Life was rather dull, comprised of helping the clan survive and little else. Things took a tragic turn though when Molly was 14. During the night, the tribe was awoken by tremors, heralding the imminent collapse of the cave they were residing in. Panic broke out as everyone tried to get out as quickly as possible, leaving behind the little possessions they had. The aftermath was brutal. Only a few people were lucky enough to survive, 6 in total, and Molly's father wasn't one of them. Lost and disoriented, the survivors tried their best to survive in the desert wasteland. For Molly it was the first time on the surface, a sensation she is not used to even to this day. The group of survivors became nomads, moving from place to place trying to come across a safe harbor where they could start anew. A few died on their journeys, since food and commodities were not easy to come by, and Raiders were an almost daily occurence. It was luck that saved Molly from facing the same fate. As their group, now only four, were camping on a hill to spend the night, a small gang of Raiders attacked them. One of the thugs was about to ambush the little girl, when suddenly his lifeless corpse fell down on her. Scared to move, she remained motionless beneath the Raider, crying and praying someone would save her. Apparently, Molly had a guardian angel that was looking over her that night. The corpse on her was pushed away, revealing an old man standing above her. He was older than anyone Molly had ever met, Mole people didn't have the highest life expectancy after all. He offered the girl a hand and pulled her up. "I'm sorry you had to witness all that little girl" the old man said in a calm, deep voice. "I'm John, what's your name?" Molly replied in a squieky voice, tears rolling down her face. "Well Molly..it seems like it's just you and me left. How about you come with me? I'm on my way to a city, we should be safe once we get there". Lost like never before, Molly agreed to accompany her savior, hoping to find a place she could call home. The duo became good friends over time. John protected Molly, and the girl did her best to be helpful and take care of the old man. They arrived in Eden a few months ago, settling down and living together. John tried to convince her multiple times he would find a family that was better suited to take care of her, but Molly refused every single time. She felt save with John and was not going to give up their companionship for a pair of strangers. John heard talks about a group of people who were putting together a convoy to get to Angel City, and his interest was immediately peaked. This "Angel City" sounded like a place that was truly safe, a place where Molly might be able to stop feeling fear, maybe even have a regular life. When he got home, he discussed his idea with her, and although Molly was not excited about leaving Eden, she was less excited about living without John. "Are you sure you want this Molly? I can still find a family that would take care of you..." He tried one last time. "I'm going with you John" was all Molly replied in her quiet voice, a faint hint of confidence in it for once.
PERSONALITY:
Molly can be described as having two very different sides to her personality. She is an introvert most of all, spending the majority of her time lost in her own thoughts and fantasies. She talks only very little, and when she does she uses a very quiet, squeaky voice. Molly lives in a constant state of awareness and fear, scared danger might ambush her any second. She is not very sure of herself, feeling lost and inferior to pretty much anyone around her. There is a complete different side to her however. Having lived in a cave most of her life, Molly is very curious about anything and everything on the surface. Her thirst for knowledge lead her to becoming a big fan of books, especially those that talked about family life and childhood. Her timidness makes her a very good observant, and although she does not talk much, she remembers very well what others have said. In rare occassions, Molly shows her childish side, jumping into puddles or playing pranks on John, an experience she didn't get to enjoy living underground. While we are on the subject of John, Molly is a lot more extrovert and open in his presence. The feeling of safety surrounding him makes it easier for the girl to open up and talk about her feelings. Another quirk of hers is her irregular sleep cycle. Having lived under the surface for most of her life, Molly does not experience daily cycles like regular people do. This translates into her being a lot more sleepy and lazy during the day, but very awake and alert during the night. After everything that has happened, one would still describe Molly as an optimist. She longs for better days, for a place she can truly call home and live a regular life.
POSSESSIONS:
*Set of clothes, mostly rags in different colors and shapes *Kit of medical supplies. very basic items like bandages and a few plants and mixtures *Several books, most of them children's literature with plenty of pictures *Silver pendant in a form of a tear, given by John *Small knife. Molly does not like to have it, but John insists on it
SKILLS / TALENTS
*Night Sight: The life underground has shaped Molly's eyes and vision. During the day, the bright light makes it hard for her to see things in the distance, looking around at all is already a burden and only possible for shorter periods of time. During the night however, Molly's sight is far superior to any other person's, allowing her to see things like if it were day for others, even in pitch-black darkness. *Medicine Girl: Watching her dad take care of people has taught Molly a few basic things about medicine. She won't be able to heal some advanced disease, but she can take care of light to medium wounds and minor illnesses like fever. She relies on her kit of mediacl supplies for this and needs to collect plants etc. to not run out of supplies. *Agriculture and Herbology: Since the tribe relied on harvesting plants and roots for survival, Molly knows a great deal about plantlife and roots, especially how to take care of them and how to use them for medicine or as food. She can spot and name quite a few types of plants, but only those she knew from living underground. The surface flora is a mistery to her.
OTHER:
John, the old companion The old man is a calm and silent type, making him somewhat similar to Molly. He is however sure of himself, and a good shot thanks to having been a gunman throughout most of his life. Before meeting Molly he used to travel through the lands in search of peace and taking care of Raiders. Not much else is known about him, besides the fact that he will go through any lengths necessary to keep Molly safe and well. He travels very light, his hunting rifle and a good amount of ammo makes up about 80% of his equipment. 5% of the remaining 20 are reserved for his old-fashioned cowboy hat.
