Spoilers: If Aurora got together with ANYBODY (and I do mean anyone since her sexuality would allow that), she would have been very unlikely to go crazy, since a stable anchor would keep her from going off the deep end, and instead become a very enthusiastic lumberjack when the war ended, enjoying her life with her loved one. If she didn't... Well, blood would be spilt, and she would die. Either by her own hand, or by the armies of the Kingdom which she had just relieved of its inhabitants... Very cheery futures, she had. I was trying to make a sort of inner struggle for the faerie, spurred on by the offhand comment made by Uriel ("To follow my king's orders is absolute[...] But lately, I've done nothing but... let them go. The princess, the human, the fairie..."), a direct signal of insubordination on the normally loyal general's part. On one hand, she wanted to keep her loyalty to her kingdom, said kingdom having helped her through her depression and lack of purpose. On the other hand, her kingdom was going to take her 'purpose' away from her (killing off all enemies of the Light, specifically the Children of Darkness), which should not, could not, happen for the sake of her sanity. Her 'purpose' was everything to her, the only reason for her continued existence. Without that purpose, she would have killed herself on that fateful night her family died. The appearance of a "loved one", someone who could give her a new purpose when her old one was denied from her, was the only way she could keep her sanity and not go on an insanity-induced blood rage.
