Bach’s own fear of iron was quickly overshadowed by the intensity of emotion Odette was exuding. Her hands fluttered above the Archon, she spoke Words of Power for a levitation spell. The Archon’s hulking body lifted from the ground seamlessly by a few feet. Odette felt the trap trigger and Joseph was now ensnared. It was a consolation prize for now but she fully intended for Joseph to suffer the consequences for crossing her and harming one of her ally’s. He was incredibly lucky she had other priorities. “I am taking Racheli now. Our intruder is caught up in one my traps, I was beginning to wonder why I had set them at all.” Odette huffed returning to Lekh the Archon floating behind her, they still made low rumbles of pain. “I will be opening a portal to transport Racheli safely away. This process takes complete concentration; it should only take me a few minutes to do it five minutes tops. Then we shall be in the clear. When the exchange is complete I will find you to repay you in kind with what we have previously discussed.” Odette promised gazing at Lekh. Bach was at her side sadly regarding the Archon of the Old Earth. He knew he wouldn’t have been able to survive such a potent magical artifact the way the Archon did. Bach’s face a mask of empathy then returned to Odette’s side whispering in her ear, “I will protect the Archon while you work, My Lady. No one shall stop us today.” Odette walked up to a pillar of the underpass smoothing her hand over the rough concrete centering her concentration on calming her thoughts, clearing her mind. Her eyes closed her pink lips spoke rapid fire French; she called for the Arcane Stream to open for her to show her it’s vulnerable cracks. A magical blue light outlined her body, her bright blue hair raising off the back of her neck and underneath her jacket the faint outline of her tattoo on her back glowed through the fabric. Her brow creased as her hands floated away from the pillar and rose above her head with open palms. Her voice rose every time she repeated her calls to the Arcane Stream. Light split down the center of the pillar, a rip in the Arcane Stream starting to form. Unbeknownst to her, Racheli’s allies were on their way to throw another wrench in their plans. The precious few minutes ran on the clock for Racheli, threatening to take her further away from safety than ever before.
