Tina had to giggle over that one because to name a street required that some political party or group wanted to remember someone or kiss someone's arse but this town was so off the path it was forgotten. She didn't just jump out of Beast chosing instead to study her surroundings for the creepers. After she saw she was at least briefly alone she jumped out an went to the gate and studied it for a few moments. It was a typical electric rolling security gate and because this was a small town lacking in any safety features to prevent clever thieves entry. Fetching the required tools took only a moment but sweeping her surroundings once more took about ten minutes. Though she'd never thought of herself as a clever thief Tina realized that her training as a mechanical engineer made her a pretty good one. So after disconnecting the roller gate from the chain drive it just took muscle to push the gate open. Then she drove the Beast inside an parked it among boats, campers an RVs. Then once that was done Tina was back at the gate and rolling it closed and rescuing it in her methodical manner that hated leaving anything mechanical undone. ~Well time to walk the ground~ she thought as she pulled a Dragon Slayer from the cab. She checked it's pressure tank an topped it off before shutting down the Beast. She'd only ever used the .50 caliber air rifle to plink but thought here was a chance to see if it were hype or truth that the air powered monster could bring down a pig. She didn't have to wait long before she encountered Walter the creep caretaker of the self storage lot. "Pop!" went the big bore BB gun and pop went Walter's head. Tina went to inspect her work and other than being just a took grossed out that she had just shot what was formerly a man she was pleased with the results. The Pyramyd Air people had built an impressive weapon an though lacking in range it made up for it by virtue of it's low report signature which reminded Tina of a champagne cork. The heavy slug was devastating in it's damage displaying enormous hydrostatic shock by nearly caving in Walter's skull. It took Tina nearly 45minutes to walk the grounds of the Self Storage before she was satisfied that after dropping two more creepers an finding a small car doors open and a ravaged woman's corpse which for good measure an peace of mind Tina shot in the head. She returned to the Beast cranking it once more to recharge the Slayer's air from the PTO air compressor. Then she shut down the big blue Silverado and drug out a few things from the trailer. She went back to the office slash upper story caretaker's apartment and use a pair of bolt cutters to liberate a 30' extension ladder which she carried back to the parking storage an set it against the two story storage building that overlooked the vehicles an boats waiting for owners that would likely never show. She climbed to the roof of the two story then drug the ladder on top with her an made cold camp, no fire, no light and only a sleeping bag. She thought about her family back in Georgia an wished she were with them knowing that among them she'd sleep safely on Arrowhead point. It was hell being alone in a world where everything wanted to harm you and she didn't just think about the creepers. No there were living an breathing vermin out there she was sure and they'd think nothing about taking whatever she let them take and that was an intolerable thought. ~If they want what's mine they'll pay in blood an pain~ thought the young woman alone on a roof in a small town thousands of miles from home. It was bought last year when her was filming the bears in Sitka Alaska because it's unique construction suspended it as high as the user felt comfortable and called a Sky Tent It had done excellent service for him in Alaska keeping him out of the reach of the brown bears and here it would afford him a peaceful nights sleep 6 meters off the ground once he pulled up the ladder after him. Once safe above it all Henri gave some thought to his situation as he ate an energy bar an sipped water. He had shelter but limited food and water resources. He was alone which while something he could mentally handle from a survival stand point was problematic. He knew nothing of his situation as far as the habits and patterns of these former people now turned nightmare. Everything held a pattern or held habits and to know theirs increased his chances. So far he'd discovered they were persistent but slow, they couldn't climb and their intelligence was somewhat like driver ants which compelled them to move in marches sweeping up the unlucky caught in their path. Tomorrow Henri decided he'd go on a scouting mission where he could find a position to set up an observation post. And while he was out he'd procure food and water and other supplies. So after finishing his meal the Lanky Canuk lay back under the stars and fell to sleep.
