Garret Beleau Physical Appearance: 6’ 0’’, Thin, 16 years Garret has dyed-blonde, meticulously splendid, brushed hair with darker layers blanketed beneath lighter ones and what he considers to be the most stylish amount of shag. He wears small gauges in his ears, brushes his teeth religiously and rigorously, and always smells of that cologne he wears. A sixteen year old boy, Garret can be described as obsessive about his appearance. His wardrobe would be remiss were it not ready for any occasion. A fancy yet tasteful suit for weddings. Layers and layers of linens. Jackets and hoodies. A delightfully comfy and easy to wear pair of shorts. He has it all, and doesn’t reject any specific type of clothing so much as he rejects wearing anything similar tomorrow. Sex: Male Personality: Garret has--on many and more occasions--experimented with various combinations of cologne and bug spray in attempts to concoct the perfect balance of attraction and repellency. He finds bug bites and bad smells equally insufferable. What's the point in living if life can't be beautiful? Garret takes pride in caring for himself and even enjoys caring for the other residents of Argentglade, sometimes helping to cut and fashion their hair or craft clothing in assistance to his mother. He most appreciates art, landscape, music, and pokemon--finding the beauty in all of them. Well, all of them except bug pokemon, really. While he sets upon the tasks before him with alacrity, he’s keen on enjoying life, Huji, and pokemon at a measured, quality-over-quantity pace. Starter Town: Argentglade Biography: Garret’s mother became the fashionista of Argentglade, renowned in that small place for her pristine haircuts and classy, affordable clothing. Garret grew up helping her sew and style, and manage Pokédollar income. Some things he learned on his own; he carved and hung a large, friendly sign for her that reads, “Mama Beleau’s”, and engineered several shelving and clothing line setups to arrange her clothing. Mama Beleau would sew every day, but she sent Garret to school and allowed him to be a relatively free young boy. Garret’s older sister Anethyst--everyone calls her Anne--has already set out to train Pokémon. One day soon, Garret will receive his pokemon and follow in her foot steps... Favored types: Water, Fire Favorite Pokémon: Milotic Why are you joining the Pokémon League? Garret loves the beauty of Argentglade but wants to travel the world and see and experience all it has to offer. He’s never thought of himself as becoming a Pokemon Master, but enjoys the idea of accompanying and challenging other trainers on their way. Miscellaneous: Garret doesn’t do miscellaneous; everything has a place. You hear a sudden rustling from the large bushes on the path’s edge. Whatever is causing this noise has yet to reveal itself. What do you do? Garret may try to help the Rattata, but at arm’s length and without touching it if possible. Just the thing a good Spray Potion was made for. It’s probably dirty. He’d have Vulpix investigate the bush--hopefully it’s not another dirty Rattata. 2) An enormous Snorlax has wedged itself between the railings of a bridge over a raging river. It seems to be a long way’s journey to venture around the living water. Your destination is across the bridge. What do you do? Garret would admire the scene. Snorlax’s shiny coat shimmering against the majestic tide. The spectacular sound of the river’s flow. He’d set out a picnic nearby, hoping the pokémon would wake up later. If he really needed to cross in a hurry, he might requisition some help from nearby. If he didn’t, he wouldn’t mind taking the scenic route. Vulpix would enjoy the picnic but become restless. 3) You awaken in the middle of the night to find a Hoothoot rummaging through your pack and taking your food. Before you act, you notice two smaller, faint outlines on the horizon of the dying campfire light. The Hoothoot begins hopping towards her children with your food in tow. What do you do? Garret’s pack is well organized and zipped in all the right places. He’d wonder how the Hoothoot managed to make it through his packaging. Garret would forget about the Hoothoot, distracted as he unpacks his bag completely in order to brainstorm how he can pack it more securely. If he can’t improve his backpack he might purchase a new one next time he’s in town. 4) You are walking with your Pokémon through thick forest when you hear a faint humming from the canopy above you. Quickly, a hive of Beedrill cuts through the foliage and descends toward you and your Pokémon. What do you do? HOLY MILTANK!!!!! Garret springs into action, scooping up Vulpix and running for dear life. There are few things more terrible than a Beedrill, and a hive of Beedrill is one of them. Vulpix slips out of Garret’s arms; he wants to chase the Beedrill in return. Horrified, Garret returns Vulpix to his pokéball and continues to book it in the non-Beedrill direction. 5) You’ve defeated a trainer handedly, and you both call your Pokémon back into their Pokéball. The trainer falls to their knees and begins to weep. The trainer is a younger individual who only had one, low-leveled bug Pokémon to face. What do you do? Garret feels bad, but not too bad because, honestly, he’s above any trainer who thinks a bug Pokémon is a good idea. “Hey, it’s okay. You’ll catch more Pokémon and become stronger.” Garret might offer the other trainer some food or other token of consideration. “We’ll fight again someday--I look forward to it.”
